The Deep State is escalating their war on Donald Trump.
But their illegal leaks have yet to drive Trump from office.
So they ratcheted up their attacks – only this time they crossed the line.
Now Deep State leakers are feeding the anti-Trump media stories to portray Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner as a traitor.
The Washington Post reported he met with the Russian Ambassador in December and proposed creating a back channel communication line.
The Post reports:
“Jared Kushner and Russia’s ambassador to Washington discussed the possibility of setting up a secret and secure communications channel between Trump’s transition team and the Kremlin, using Russian diplomatic facilities in an apparent move to shield their pre-inauguration discussions from monitoring, according to U.S. officials briefed on intelligence reports.
Ambassador Sergey Kislyak reported to his superiors in Moscow that Kushner, son-in-law and confidant to then-President-elect Trump, made the proposal during a meeting on Dec. 1 or 2 at Trump Tower, according to intercepts of Russian communications that were reviewed by U.S. officials. Kislyak said Kushner suggested using Russian diplomatic facilities in the United States for the communications.
The meeting also was attended by Michael Flynn, Trump’s first national security adviser.”
Media outlets rushed to find willing sources who would feed them lines about how this made Kushner a traitor.
Business Insider reports:
“If you are in a position of public trust, and you talk to, meet, or collude with a foreign power” while trying to subvert normal state channels, “you are, in the eyes of the FBI and CIA, a traitor,” said Glenn Carle, a former top counterterrorism official at the CIA. “That is what I spent my life getting foreigners to do with me, for the US government.”
But there is less to this story than meets the eye.
Bloomberg’s Eli Lake pointed out administrations setting up back channels to other nations is normal.
@benjaminwittes I don’t know Ben. But the incoming president is allowed to set up back channels to Russia.

And National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster said he wasn’t worried at all about Kushner’s meeting and also stated back channels between countries is normal.
“National Security Advisor Gen. H.R. McMaster said he’s “not concerned” following reports that President Donald Trump’s son-in-law and advisor Jared Kushner may have discussed setting up diplomatic backchannels to Moscow during the presidential transition.
McMaster told American reporters traveling with Trump at the G7 summit in Sicily that the U.S. frequently sets up backchannels to countries for discreet communications
“We have backchannel communications with a number of countries,” McMaster said in response to questions.
“What that allows you to do is communicate in a discreet manner so I’m not concerned.”
This story was once again fed with illegal leaks.
A Deep State operative disclosed to the Washington Post the content of intercepted communications between the Russian Ambassador and Moscow.
Letting the Russians know we are intercepting their communications damages American national security.
And the intelligence community is using this information for a personal smear campaign against the President and his family.
It’s clear the Deep State resents Trump, his family, and the very idea that Trump won the election in the first place.
So they are trying to undo the will of the American people by weaponizing the spy state apparatus against the President and those closest to him.
Millions of Americans are appalled by these tactics.
Will Trump survive the Deep State assault?
