Former FBI Director James Comey testified before the Senate Intelligence Committee.
The media and Democrats hyped it up like the Super Bowl because they were sure it was the final nail in Trump’s coffin.
And at the start of his testimony, Comey gave one answer that settled everything once and for all.
After Comey was fired, the media – with the help of Democrats and Deep State leakers – fed the narrative that Trump obstructed justice by firing him.
But Comey was asked point blank if Trump ever asked him to shut down the Russia investigation.
His answer was an emphatic “no.”
Burr: Did the president ever ask you to stop the investigation into Russian interference into the election?

Comey’s written testimony also referred to Trump asking Comey to “lift the cloud” surrounding the Russia investigation from his administration.
Democrats and their allies in the media salivated over this tidbit.
They took it to mean Trump wanted the whole investigation to go away and was prepared to do anything – even break the law – to see that it did.
But that was not the case.
Comey testified he took it as a very narrow ask for him to make public what he had told the President and members of Congress in private – that Trump was not himself under investigation.
Furthermore, Comey testified that Trump had told him that if any of his associates had committed wrongdoing, then a full investigation to get the facts out was a good thing.
So not only was Trump merely asking Comey to tell the truth, but he was also insisting Comey carry out his investigation to its fullest extent.
Finally, the left pushed all their chips in on Trump obstructing justice with Comey’s alleged memo which claimed the President told him he “hoped” he could find a way to let Michael Flynn go.
Liberals honed in on this statement as Trump admitting to a crime.
But Idaho Senator Jim Risch asked Comey if he had ever seen anyone prosecuted for saying they “hoped” something would happen.
Comey was forced to admit he had not.

The Comey testimony also changed the Russia investigation.
It’s obvious now this is a politician endeavor designed to bring embarrassment on Trump and try to force him to resign.
There is no wrongdoing relating to connections to the Russians or Trump abusing his power by obstructing the investigation.
Comey walked into the hearing hoping to shovel dirt on Trump’s political grave, but he ended up letting all the air out of the balloon.
