Paul Ryan and Nancy Pelosi may be members of different parties.
But they are both prominent members of the swamp.
And they are holding a meeting that could plot the end of Trump’s Presidency.
Both Ryan and Pelosi are long-time supporters of open borders and amnesty for illegal aliens.
They sensed an opportunity to act when Donald Trump ended Barack Obama’s illegal DACA amnesty program for so-call ‘Dreamers.’
Trump faced negative blowback from big business, which depends on illegal aliens as a cheap source of labor and to depress the wages of American workers, celebrities, and establishment Republicans.
The President faced unbelievable pressure to come to a compromise on the matter and that is when pro-amnesty politicians in both parties began to hatch a plot to box Trump in and jam him with a ‘Dreamer’ amnesty bill.
“Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) will meet with House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and other top Democrats on Wednesday to discuss legislative options to protect Dreamers, the young undocumented immigrants who could face deportation next year if Congress doesn’t act.
Leaders of the Congressional Tri-Caucus — Chairwoman Michelle Lujan Grisham (D-N.M..) of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, Chairman Cedric Richmond (D-La.) of the Congressional Black Caucus and Chairwoman Judy Chu (D-Calif.) of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus — are all expected to attend.
House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) and House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) have also been invited, according to a source familiar with the meeting. The bipartisan gathering is scheduled for 5 p.m. in the speaker’s office.
The meeting comes amid growing support on Capitol Hill to providing legal certainty for Dreamers after the Trump administration last week announced plans to end Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA, the program that shields them from deportation.”
Pro-illegal immigration politicians like Ryan and Pelosi claim the ‘Dreamers’ are children who were brought here illegally by their parents through no fault of their own.
But they aren’t innocent children who are the foundational building blocks of American society.
To apply for DACA – which provides for a two-year work permit and protection from deportation – one must be at least 15-years-old.
This makes many ‘Dreamers’ actually young adults.
The Daily Caller reported:
“While DACA recipients were illegally brought to the United States by their parents when they were children, the minimum age to apply for the program is 15 years old. In fact, the majority of the applicants were over the age of 20 based on 2014 data from the US government. Some have estimated that the average age of dreamers is 25 or 26 years old–hardly children.”
Critics also argue the DREAM Act is a backdoor bill to larger amnesty.
Once the children of illegal aliens are granted legal status the pro-amnesty lobby will argue that it’s unfair for them to live under the threat of their families being broken up so amnesty must be granted to their parents and relatives.
Boxing Trump in with the DREAM Act could destroy his Presidency.
Trump’s hard line on immigration won him the Presidency.
His voters have stuck with him through every controversy.
But should he go back on his no amnesty campaign pledge then he could fatally wound his Presidency in the same manner in which George H.W. Bush destroyed his re-election chances when he broke his no new taxes pledge.
