Political violence on the left is out of control.
And a former CNN official just got arrested for threatening to kill this top Republican.
Federal authorities arrested 58-year-old Eugene Huelsman of Thousand Oaks, California on charges he threatened to kill Florida Republican Congressman Matt Gaetz.
Huelsman worked as a camera operator for CNN and other corporate media outlets like ABC.
The Justice Department mysteriously unsealed the indictment – which was issued in May – this week.
“Tell [M.G.] to watch his back, tell him to watch his children,” Huelsman allegedly threatened. “I’m coming for him… I’m gonna f—ing kill him… I’m gonna put a bullet in you and I’m gonna put a bullet in one of your f—ing kids too.”
Congressman Gaetz – who is known as one of the strongest Trump supporters in Congress – blasted the politically motivation by the Justice Department to only take action one week after Gaetz criticized the DOJ for refusing to prosecute an individual that threatened his life.
“An indictment was issued in May, and has now been unsealed the week after my criticism,” Gaetz told POLITICO. “If they took our security seriously, they would arrest all of the people who violate federal law and the threats to kill us, not just some of them… I think that the Department of Justice is biased against Republicans.”
One week before the arrest, Gaetz shamed the Department of Justice and the FBI for sitting on a credible threat to his life.
“I thank the gentleman for yielding because I think someone may be trying to kill me,” Gaetz stated.
Gaetz read aloud a tweet from someone claiming they accepted a contract on Gaetz’s life and Gaetz wanted to make sure his constituents knew if he died that the Biden administration allowed the killing to happen.
“And if they are successful, I would like my constituents and my family to know who stopped their arrest. Madam Speaker, on October 8, 2021, a Twitter handle, styled, CIA Bob is at your door, tweeted to @RepMattGaetz, ‘Looky here, pal. I lived in Portland. Portland has ordered a hit on you. I accepted the contract. Have a good day,’” Gaetz continued.
“Following this tweet, this individual traveled to Washington, D.C., and the Capitol Police recommended his arrest,” Gaetz concluded.
