Some Republicans could not wait to betray President Trump.
As soon as the election was over some in the GOP seized their moment.
But one Republican governor that sold out Trump for Joe Biden just got hit with this really bad news.
Ohio RINO Governor Mike DeWine comes from the Democrat wing of the Republican Party.
Shortly after the election, Governor DeWine told fake news CNN that Joe Biden was the President-elect even though not all the states had certified their results and President Trump was still challenging vote counts on the basis of widespread voter fraud and irregularities.
President Trump hinted that DeWine would face a primary challenge if he runs for re-election in 2022.
But Governor DeWine may not even make it that far.
GOP state representatives John Becker Nino Vitale, Candice Keller and Paul Zeltwanger introduced articles of impeachment against Governor DeWine over DeWine’s tyrannical coronavirus lockdowns and mask mandates.
State Representative Becker accused DeWine of “mismanagement, malfeasance, misfeasance, abuse of power, and other crimes include, but are not limited to, meddling in the conduct of a presidential primary election, arbitrarily closing and placing curfews on certain businesses, while allowing other businesses to remain open.”
The group of Republican state legislators attacked DeWine for his oppressive mask mandate that they declared “promotes fear, turns neighbors against neighbors, and contracts the economy by making people fearful to leave their homes.”
When rumors of articles of impeachment against him began to circulate this summer, Governor DeWine claimed he could suspend civil liberties and close businesses with Stalinist lockdowns.
“As governor, my priorities are to keep people safe and to get our economy moving faster,” DeWine stated. “If there are others in the legislature who want to spend their time drawing up resolutions and filing articles … I’d just say to them, ‘Have at it.'”
If these articles of impeachment gain traction Donald Trump will be sure to endorse them.
Even if these articles do not gain the support from a majority of the state House and two thirds of the state Senate, Governor DeWine has a conservative, grassroots rebellion on his hands.
No matter what happens in the 2020 election, Donald Trump will be the dominant force in Republican politics in the 2022 midterms.
In past election cycles, a simple endorsement tweet from President Trump could sink a previously invincible incumbent or vault a previously unknown challenger to victory in a crowded field.
Governor DeWine is now facing two threats to his political career.
If the articles of impeachment don’t sink him then a conservative primary challenger—Ohio Congressman Jim Jordan is rumored to run—could take out DeWine based on DeWine’s longtime liberal record of supporting gun control and now racing to declare Joe Biden the winner of the election.
