John Kerry and Joe Biden have a lot of explaining to do.
The evidence is piling up that this scandal is about to turn into a category five hurricane for the administration.
And it’s all becausea whistleblower’s revelation has John Kerry sweating jail time.
A New York Times story contained the bombshell allegation that Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif was caught on a secret audio recording claiming that John Kerry told him about 200 Israeli missile attacks on Iranian interests in Syria.
The implications were stunning.
Kerry was a former presidential candidate and may have been Barack Obama’s Secretary of State when he sold out America’s ally, Israel, to their sworn enemy, Iran.
Kerry—who now serves as Joe Biden’s climate czar—denied the allegations.
“I can tell you that this story and these allegations are unequivocally false. This never happened – either when I was Secretary of State or since,” Kerry wrote on social media.
The administration rallied to Kerry’s defense.
“If you go back and look at press reporting from the time, this certainly was not secret, and governments that were involved were speaking to this publicly on the record,” State Department spokesman Ned Price told reporters.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken asserted these strikes “were all reported in the press at the time, so it is utter nonsense.”
Blinken also alleged Republicans were trying to “play politics with this.”
But Blinken and Price may have been out over their skis in defending Kerry as Kerry’s denial wilted in the face of new reporting by The Washington Free Beacon.
The Free Beacon obtained an independently verified transcript of the audio of Zarif recounting his conversation with Kerry.
Zarif makes it clear he had no idea at the time of the conversation that Israel launched 200 missile attacks against Iranian targets in Syria.
The Washington Free Beacon reports:
“Kerry told me that Israel had launched 200 airstrikes against you [Iran],” said Zarif. “You didn’t know?” asked his interviewer. “No, no,” he replied.
The transcript created multiple problems for Kerry.
First of all, there is no evidence this conversation took place after the Israeli missile strikes were made public in 2018.
Second, it is impossible for any reasonable person to believe that the Iranian foreign minister would have no idea about Israeli missile strikes against his nation’s assets if they were reported in the press.
Texas Senator Ted Cruz called on Biden to fire Kerry if the transcript turned out to be accurate.
“If this transcript is confirmed, John Kerry must resign immediately and if he doesn’t, President Biden must fire him immediately,” Cruz posted on Twitter.
New York Congresswoman Elise Stefanik went one step further and demanded Kerry face criminal prosecution.
“This is a criminal act and John Kerry must be immediately investigated and PROSECUTED. President Biden must immediately remove John Kerry from any government or advisory position,” Stefanik wrote on social media.
Despite the corporate media’s best efforts to cover up for their ally, this scandal is not going away.
And the growing body of evidence suggests that an investigation with potential criminal penalties may be warranted.
