Democrats in Washington are running into a political reality.
The leading voices on the left are not handling it well.
And Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez got the bad news that led to an ugly public meltdown.
Arizona Democrat Kyrsten Sinema announced she would not support the $3.5 trillion dollar cradle-to-grave socialist welfare state and Green New Deal spending bill Chuck Schumer planned to ram through the Senate through the reconciliation process.
“I have told Senate leadership and President Biden that I support many of the goals in this proposal to continue creating jobs, growing American competitiveness, and expanding economic opportunities for Arizonans. I have also made clear that while I will support beginning this process, I do not support a bill that costs $3.5 trillion,” a released statement from Sinema read.
With a 50/50 Senate, Democrats cannot afford to lose one vote if Chuck Schumer hopes to ram the centerpiece of Joe Biden’s radical agenda through Congress.
The members of the “Squad” lost their collective minds.
$3.5 trillion on socialist welfare programs and the Green New Deal was the compromise number Bernie Sanders negotiated.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, and other leftists in the House of Representatives initial demand was a $6 to $10 trillion dollar spending bill.
Ocasio-Cortez and her allies vented on social media and threatened Sinema that if she demanded a lower amount of spending, her compromise bill could not pass the House of Representatives.
“Good luck tanking your own party’s investment on childcare, climate action, and infrastructure while presuming you’ll survive a 3 vote House margin – especially after choosing to exclude members of color from negotiations and calling that a “bipartisan accomplishment,”” Ocasio-Cortez wrote on social media.
Rashida Tlaib also chimed in by falsely claiming that if Sinema did not support the Green New Deal spending bill, residents of Arizona would perish from the ravages of so-called “climate change.”
“Sinema seems not to care that her own state is flooding, the west is burning, and infrastructure around the country is crumbling. Sinema is more interested in gaining GOP friends and blocking much needed resources, than fighting for her residents’ future,” Tlaib wrote.
Tlaib suggested that Joe Biden should threaten to support a primary challenger against Sinema when she runs for re-election in 2024 – unless she supports the $3.5 trillion Green New Deal and social welfare bill.
“Time for the White House to play hardball. We didn’t elect Sinema as President and we won’t let her obstruction put a Republican in the Oval Office in 2024. It’s the reconciliation bill or GOP controlling every level of government again, period,” Tlaib wrote.
Democrats see this $3.5 trillion big government spending bill as the key step toward turning America into a socialist nation.
And the “Squad” is making it clear they will play for keeps – even by threatening to tank a so-called “compromise” bill – just to win the day.
