Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is the most unhinged Democrat in Washington today.
And she just proved exactly why.
It’s all because Ocasio-Cortez lost her mind after being asked a question about Bill Clinton she never wanted to answer.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is something of a superstar among left-wing Democrats and has been for about a year.
After stunning the Democratic establishment by defeating a long-time incumbent in a blue Congressional District in New York City, Ocasio-Cortez made her way to Washington last year on the backs of a wave of new Democrats elected to obstruct President Trump.
But since taking office, she’s done more damage to her own party than to the President.
And this past week shows exactly why Ocasio-Cortez continues to be the gift that keeps on giving for Republicans.
It all started when Ocasio-Cortez was asked one question about Bill Clinton that she dreaded the most.
The Washington Times reports, “Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez doesn’t want to talk about the existence of ‘concentration camps’ under former presidents Bill Clinton or Barack Obama. The New York Democrat was asked on Thursday by CNN’s Jake Tapper about her rhetoric surrounding detention facilities for illegal immigrants along the U.S. border with Mexico, and if she’s been consistent over the years.”
Ocasio-Cortez didn’t like that question one bit.
And she struggled to evade it.
“When you retweeted a story from Esquire magazine discussing all this, talking about the academic definition versus the definition that most people think of — the colloquial definition that doesn’t mean the concentration camp but just a concentration of individuals, but a Nazi death camp,” Trapper asked of Ocasio-Cortez.
“One of the points that was made in that very story was that using that very definition, there were also ‘concentration camps’ under Obama and under Bill Clinton. That is in the story that you retweeted. So, did you call them concentration camps at the time when Obama was president?”
Ocasio-Cortez was left stunned.
She had no response at all that could possibly sound coherent.
And her defense to the question was completely pathetic.
“Well, at the time, I was working in a restaurant. But I do — I absolutely was outspoken against Obama’s immigration policies and the detention of families then. I think it’s a remarkably consistent position, and I’m not here to defend wrong actions just because they happened under a Democratic administration. I’m here to speak truth to power. If it’s wrong, it’s wrong, and I frankly don’t care what president does it,” Ocasio-Cortez said.
The fact that her defense was that she worked at a restaurant at the time says everything the American people need to know.
She’s more than willing to slam President Trump and suggest he’s no different than the Nazis when it suits her political agenda, but when someone asks her about the agenda of a Democratic president, she immediately starts to cave under the pressure.
Ocasio-Cortez is a hack who can dish it out but fails under pressure when she’s hit back.
