Donald Trump and his supporters could not believe it.
The ultimate betrayal took place.
And all hell broke loose on this phone call after Republicans decided to cut Trump loose.
It’s no secret establishment Republicans cannot wait to get rid of Donald Trump.
The President and his supporters rejected the swamp Republican posture of agreeing with the Democrats on everything and pushing for open borders, foreign wars and international trade deals that sent jobs to Communist China.
In a call with the Senate Republican caucus, Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and his top lieutenants demanded Republican senators stand down on President Trump’s efforts to contest the election and not sign on to an effort by House conservatives to force a vote on the certification of the Electoral College when both houses of Congress meet on the matter January 6.
The Washington Post exclusively reports, “In a conference-wide phone call Tuesday afternoon, McConnell and other GOP leaders urged Senate Republicans not to join a long-shot effort led by conservatives in the House to challenge the Electoral College results when Congress formally tabulates the vote Jan. 6. His remarks were confirmed by three officials familiar with the call who spoke on the condition of anonymity to disclose a private conversation.”
RINO South Dakota Senator John Thune argued that establishment Republicans would vote to certify the election and thus open themselves up to pro-Trump primary challenges in 2022.
“He was backed up in his pitch by Republican Sens. John Thune (S.D.) and Roy Blunt (Mo.), who were clear in their remarks Monday evening that the electoral college had spoken and that the results should be accepted. Part of the leadership’s argument was that this type of vote would crush GOP senators ahead of what might be a challenging midterm cycle in 2022, the officials said,” the Post also reported.
Pro-abortion West Virginia RINO Shelley Moore Capito argued Republicans should accept the result and roll over Biden’s agenda and help him pass left-wing legislation into law.
“I think as hard as the losses are to take, at the end of the day, you have to accept what the people’s voices told you,” Senator Capito claimed. “I think that there was encouragement . . . on the phone for us to accept the result — as much as it’s not what we would have envisioned for the next four years — and to try to do what’s best for the American people, which is to look forward.”
Establishment Republicans are most comfortable stabbing conservatives in the back by cutting deals with Democrats and understanding that their role in American politics is to lose gracefully to Democrats.
RINOs like Mitt Romney hate President Trump because President Trump instead fought on behalf of the people that vote for Republicans and support the party’s values.
Now that Mitch McConnell and other RINOs think President Trump will be leaving office these swamp creatures think it’s safe to go back to business as usual.
