Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is one of the most talked about Republicans in America.
Democrats are terrified Governor DeSantis will run for president.
And all hell broke loose when Ron DeSantis made this major 2024 announcement.
As Ron DeSantis racks up win after win on all the issues conservatives care about – banning woke ideology from schools, blocking COVID vaccine and mask mandates, removing George Soros-funded prosecutors – DeSantis’ stature in the GOP continued to rise.
DeSantis’ popularity and ability to turn Florida – a perennial swing state – into a solid red state led to presidential talk.
In an interview with Fox News DeSantis brushed off the 2024 talk explaining his sole focus was on winning re-election this November and keeping Florida a free state.
“People have asked me about that, probably about a thousand different times,” Governor DeSantis said in an interview with Fox News. “I’m basically, I’m keeping my eye on the ball here in Florida.”
That answer led to the logical follow-up question as to if DeSantis would endorse Donald Trump’s impending 2024 re-election campaign.
But in an eyebrow-raising answer DeSantis also punted on that.
“I’m doing 2022,” DeSantis responded. “I’ve got a campaign coming up.”
Many other Republicans considering 2024 bids like Marco Rubio, Tim Scott, and Nikki Haley already said they would not run if Trump declared his candidacy and that they would support Trump.
But Ron DeSantis is a different case.
Because of Ron DeSantis’ success in leading the opposition to the left the last two years DeSantis is now the second most popular Republican in America.
A recent Yahoo/YouGov poll found DeSantis only trailing Trump by nine points in the 2024 GOP primary.
2024 National Republican Primary:

And it looks like DeSantis is preparing for a 2024 campaign.
DeSantis raised an unheard of $130 million for his 2022 re-election – far more than is necessary to win a second term in Florida.
And DeSantis’ wife Casey has apparently given the go-ahead for a presidential campaign.
The Washington Post reports:
They said DeSantis’s wife, Casey, a former television host and among a small circle of confidants, wants him to run for president. The couple believes that the governor’s skills are uniquely matched to the current political climate, and are wary of waiting six years, by which time the tides may have shifted. DeSantis has not indicated if he would defer a campaign if Trump runs.
DeSantis’ extraordinary record of achievement shot him to the forefront of the 2024 discussion.
Just in the last year and a half DeSantis signed legislation banning mask mandates in schools and vaccine passports for businesses.
DeSantis also signed the Parental Rights in Education bill which prevents teachers from grooming students in grades K-3 into transgenderism.
Parents cheered when DeSantis signed a bill into law banning critical race theory in classrooms.
When Disney went woke and tried to kill the bill DeSantis refused to be intimidated and fought back signing legislation that stripped Disney of its special tax and governing privileges.
And finally, DeSantis suspended George Soros-backed prosecutor Andrew Warren for his stated refusal to enforce Florida laws.
That record turned DeSantis into one of the most talked about 2024 Republican presidential prospects.
But the main question was, would DeSantis run if Trump announced a re-election campaign?
All of DeSantis’ words and actions suggest the answer is yes.
