Barack Obama and Joe Biden worked together for eight years.
But now there is a rift.
And Barack Obama and Joe Biden just had this major disagreement.
Joe Biden made famed children’s author Dr. Seuss the latest victim of left-wing cancel culture.
Biden dropped Dr. Seuss from the text of his Read Across America Day statement on the day that was Dr. Seuss’ birthday and when a school district in Virginia banned the books from its Read Across America Day program.
Breitbart reports, “President Biden dropped Dr. Seuss from Read Across America Day, failing to mention the famed children’s author in his presidential proclamation — a decision that coincided with six of the beloved author’s books being pulled from publication for ‘racist and insensitive’ depictions.”
Biden canceled Dr. Seuss and smeared him as a racist after the Seuss estate announced it would stop publishing six of Dr. Seuss’ books—”And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street,”“If I Ran the Zoo,”“McElligot’s Pool,”“On Beyond Zebra!,”“Scrambled Eggs Super!,” and “The Cat’s Quizzer”—because of illustrations and depictions of ethnic groups that are now seen as offensive.
“These books portray people in ways that are hurtful and wrong,” a statement from Dr. Seuss Enterprises read.
“Ceasing sales of these books is only part of our commitment and our broader plan to ensure Dr. Seuss Enterprises’ catalog represents and supports all communities and families,” the statement added.
But there is one top Democrat that disagrees and once praised Dr. Seuss.
And that is Barack Obama.
In a 2016 talk with interns, Obama praised Dr. Seuss as a source of wisdom and tolerance.
Obama told the interns that “pretty much all the stuff you need to know is in Dr. Seuss.”
President Obama added that the Dr. Seuss book “Star-Belly Sneetches” taught that “we’re all the same, so why would we treat somebody differently?”
Obama added that Dr. Seuss’ books taught “homespun basic virtues.”
But now because of Biden and the Dr. Seuss Enterprises’ decision to cancel Dr. Seuss, he will forever be known as a racist.
Defenders of the “woke” mobs that came after Dr. Seuss claim that only six of Seuss’ books got yanked.
That misses the point.
There is no “partial racist.”
Forevermore, Dr. Seuss—even though his books stood for inclusion, compassion, environmentalism and community—will be known as a bigot.
This is why in the past even Barack Obama’s complained about the epidemic of cancel culture.
Joe Biden—however—is not willing to stand up to cancel culture.
And Biden gladly went along with sullying Dr. Seuss’ name by removing him from Read Across America Day which will irrevocably ruin Dr. Seuss’ name.
