With the federal government shutdown over border security and building a wall dragging on, Democrats are rallying behind the former president to push back against President Trump.
But Obama is reeling after being betrayed by one close ally.

With the left still adoring the former President, many liberals have turned to Obama to help defeat President Trump’s push to secure the border and build a wall with Mexico.
But Barack Obama just found out the last person he’d expect betrayed him.
Mark Morgan, Obama’s former Border Patrol Chief has broken ranks with the former President and the Democratic Party and threw his support behind President Trump this week, while slamming the mainstream media for lying about the realities along the southern border.
The Daily caller reports, “Mark Morgan appeared on Tucker Carlson’s show Wednesday night to discuss the border wall and what the media labeled as “inaccurate statements” from President Donald Trump’s Oval Office address.”
Morgan was removed from office after President Trump won in 2016, as part of the usual turnover in executive appointments which occur whenever a new party comes to power in the White House.
He had previously served as the head of border patrol under President Obama until January 2017.
“My response is that those people that are saying that, anybody that says that, Tucker, is misinformed and they’re misleading the American people. So before I was even chief of border patrol, I served in the FBI for two decades,” Morgan stated on an interview with Fox News’ Tucker Carlson.
“One of my assignments was I led the El Paso office. From my office right on the border I could see Juarez. Every single day, Tucker, we worked with the DEA and all components of DHS and we worked human trafficking cases, we worked drug cases and we worked gang cases,” Morgan added.
Morgan told Carlson that 127 border patrol agents died in the line of duty under President Obama’s watch, and showed his visible frustration with the media describing the lives lost along the border as a “manufactured crisis”.
Morgan also called out the left for ignoring the reports from those working on the ground, as well as other experts familiar with border security and illegal immigration.
Despite serving under President Obama, Morgan ripped into the Democrats’ refusal to provide 5 billion dollars to President Trump to construct more fencing along the southern border.
Morgan also claimed the media ignores the sheer number of drugs entering America through the southern border, slamming reporters who ignore this crisis by pointing to other ways illegal drugs enter the country.
“[It is] a complete disingenuous statement,” Morgan said, telling Carlson that the media seems to not care about the realities on the ground.
Morgan’s statements point out the massive chasm that exists between the rhetoric politicians in Washington spew about the southern border, and what the reality on the ground is.
