Americans were speechless.
No one could believe someone would use this term to describe Barack Obama.
Barack Obama was called the one name that crossed a giant line.
Left-wing journalist Edward Isaac-Dovere’s new book “Battle for the Soul: Inside the Democrats’ Campaign to Defeat Trump” is generating a ton of headlines.
Much of the buzzy excerpts from Dovere’s book concern former President Barack Obama.
Dovere’s book is one of the first pieces of reporting from the left that critically examined Obama’s role in the Democrat Party and legacy.
Ever since Obama exploded as a force in American politics, the media fueled a myth-making machineto deify Obama.
In Dovere’s book, the author pins some of the blame on the decay in the Democrat Party that led to Donald Trump’s election on Barack Obama.
Dovere writes that a major failing of Barack Obama was the refusal to cultivate the next generation of Democrat Party leadership.
“Obama never built a Democratic bench and never cared to, aside from a few scattered candidates who interested him,” Dovere claimed.
During Barack Obama’s time in the White House, Republicans hollowed out the Democrat Party bench with massive wins in the 2010 and 2014 midterms resulting in Democrats losing over 1,000 seats up and down the ballot on Obama’s watch.
“The numbers are hard to ignore: during his eight years in office, Obama oversaw a net loss of 947 state legislative seats, 63 House seats, 11 senators, and 13 governors,” Dovere wrote.
Dovere wrote that Obama’s allies felt it would “taint” Obama to dive in the weeds of identifying favored candidates and raising money for their election.
These Obama associates believed wrongly that the public would think Obama somehow cared more about governing and reward Democrats.
But Dovere even went so far as to call Obama a “parasite” for how Obama used his handpicked Democratic National Committee Chairman—then-Virginia Governor Tim Kaine—to turn the DNC into a vehicle for Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign.
The New York Post reports:
In his first term, Dovere writes, Obama used the Democratic Party as a “host” for his re-election campaign…
…Kaine was “commuting two days a week to oversee the pilfering of talent, money, resources, and purpose for the Obama reelection effort that was already under way,” Dovere writes.
Dovere noted that the second Obama secured re-election he lost all interest in the DNC and allowed the organization to atrophy.
“In his second term, he cared about what happened to the husk as much as any parasite does,” Dovere writes about Obama.
Americans are used to reporters worshipping Obama and carefully guarding his image and legacy.
Dovere’s book is the first time a left-leaning reporter in the corporate media called out Obama for his failures.
