In the modern era, Bernie Sanders has made it far with his socialist beliefs.
And he’s hopeful that he could win the White House in 2020.
But that won’t happen now that Bernie Sanders got the news that he can’t beat Trump in 2020.
There’s one major obstacle for the Vermont Senator and his Presidential campaign.
It’s his belief in socialism and the unapologetic way he advocates for the radical political system.
The United States has always been a capitalist nation, which is largely responsible for the economic success that has propelled America to become the largest economy in the world.
But Sanders remains in his belief that capitalism and a free market isn’t the way forward.
However, he’ll need to convince the rest of America if hopes to beat Trump in 2020.
And the latest polling shows that’s not going to happen.
A poll from Monmouth University shows that only ten percent of Americans have a positive view of socialism.
It additionally shows that 57 percent of Americans believe socialism is incompatible with American values, while only 27 percent believe it is.
These numbers are not good for Sanders and other prominent socialists like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
While their radical ideas may have support in small pockets of the country—mostly in coastal areas—they don’t have much appeal anywhere else.
And unlike during the 2016 election, Sanders doesn’t have a failing economy on his side.
Under Trump’s presidency, the economy is flourishing with record lows in unemployment and historic levels of a positive outlook on the economy.
People are back at work and keeping more of their own hard earned money.
There isn’t much of an argument for radical solutions.
So it’s likely Bernie Sanders will be one of the easiest candidates for Trump to defeat.
Many Democrats aren’t willing to go as far left as Sanders.
In recent weeks, Sanders has created a lot of scandal for himself by declaring his support for giving voting rights to violent criminals in prison.
Among those, he supports giving voting rights to is the Boston marathon bomber currently rotting in prison for the rest of life.
This belief is so extreme that even some who support his other radical ideas won’t go along with him on this one.
Bernie is finding his campaign quickly losing steam because of his own radical statements.
And there’s no telling what else he will say as the election looms ever closer.
