Bill Clinton’s affair with Monica Lewinsky continues to haunt them both.
They cannot escape the scandal that nearly ruined his Presidency.
That became even clearer when someone asked Lewinsky a question about Bill Clinton that sent her running off stage.
Affair Links Monica Lewinsky and Bill Clinton Forever
Congress impeached Bill Clinton in 1998 because he lied under oath about his affair with Monica Lewinsky.
He committed perjury, but the Senate did not have enough votes to remove him from office.
The scandal helped George Bush win the 2000 election.
But in light of the #MeToo movement, Clinton’s conduct has come back to haunt him.
Powerful men who abused women are no longer safe.
Some Democrats wonder why they looked the other way on Clinton’s abuses while he was in office.
NBC’s Craig Melvin asked Clinton about this in a recent interview.
Clinton shocked Americans when he said he told Lewinsky he was sorry.
However, he also flew off the handle.
Clinton ranted, “I dealt with it 20 years ago, plus, the American people, two-thirds of them sided with me, and I’ve tried to do a good job since then with my life and my work.”
Lewinski Storms Off Stage
Lewinsky recently appeared at an event in Jerusalem.
A local journalist was going to interview her live onstage.
But the interview ended abruptly when Lewinsky walked off stage after being asked a question about the Clinton affair.
Lewinsky later wrote that she had a deal in place not to be asked anything about Clinton.
“I said that was off limits,” Lewinsky stated.
Lewinsky wrote, “When she asked me it on stage, with blatant disregard for our agreement it became clear to me that I was misled.”
“I left because it is more important than ever for women to stand up for themselves and not allow others to control their narrative,” she concluded.
The Media Double Standard At Work
Lewinsky storming off stage was the second Bill Clinton scandal in recent days.
He’s already been under fire for sitting with the racist Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan at Aretha Franklin’s funeral.
But Republicans cheer every time Bill Clinton is in the news.
They love to remind their voters of the Clinton scandals and the media’s double standards.
Not one news outlet would have ignored either of these incidences had it been Donald Trump.
That is why Trump and his supporters label the press “fake news.”
They are not news outlets.
Their job is to take a given set of facts and shape them to best help the Democrat Party.
Media bias is out of control.
But the good news is that the American people are seeing the press for what it really is.
Do you think Bill Clinton actually told Monica Lewinsky he was sorry?
