Democrats launched a total war on Brett Kavanaugh to stop Republicans from confirming him to the Supreme Court because they were afraid he would swing the court to the right.
The left has continued those attacks to this day.
And now Brett Kavanaugh could not believe which traitor just stabbed him in the back.
The fight over Supreme Court Justice nominations always comes down to one issue: Roe v. Wade.
Abortion is the Democrats Holy Grail.
They will fight tooth-and-nail to preserve the ability of abortionists to execute babies at any stage of pregnancy – and as this past week showed, they even support killing born-alive infants.
President Trump nominated Kavanaugh to replace Anthony Kennedy who was a reliable supporter of abortion on the Supreme Court.
Kavanaugh survived the fake news allegations of sexual assault made against him and Republicans were able to confirm him last October.
And on his first abortion ruling, Kavanaugh did not disappoint.
Kavanaugh voted with Justice Thomas, Gorsuch and Alito to leave a Louisiana law in place that requires doctors who perform abortions to also have admitting privileges to a hospital within 30 miles of their abortion mill.
But the abortionists ended up winning this round.
That’s because Chief Justice John Roberts stabbed Kavanaugh, President Trump and every other conservative in the back by joining the court’s four liberals in temporarily blocking the law.
That means the soonest the court can take up arguments on the case would be October 2020.
Pro-abortion activists cheered the decision.
“The Supreme Court has stepped in under the wire to protect the rights of Louisiana women,” said Nancy Northup, the president of the so-called Center for Reproductive Rights.
“The three clinics left in Louisiana can stay open while we ask the Supreme Court to hear our case.”
Abortion activists objected to this law by claiming it would only leave one abortion factory open in Louisiana.
Many Americans would claim that is one too many.
But the left was bailed out by the ever-increasingly liberal Chief Justice John Roberts once again.
Roberts – who was appointed by President George W. Bush – is turning into another David Souter.
Bush and his allies swore up and down that Roberts would be a reliable conservative vote.
That has not turned out to be the case.
Roberts most famously voted to uphold Obamacare by rewriting the law to claim the individual mandate was a tax.
The Chief Justice then sided against President Trump on a key immigration case.
Now he is celebrating the right for abortionists to kill babies at any stage of their life.
While this is just a temporary order and the court could end up ruling in favor of the Louisiana law, Roberts’ decision gives a hint of how the court will eventually rule.
Roberts is a swamp creature who is concerned about the court’s “reputation” as institution.
What that really means is he is a squish who lives and dies by what the fake news media says about him.
Roberts is proving he will sell out every conservative cause in order to win favorable headlines as being a “statesmen” – i.e. agreeing with the Democrats on everything – from the New York Times and their ilk.
