Chuck Schumer walked out of a meeting with Donald Trump and strode right up to the microphones.
No one could believe what he was about to say.
That’s because Chuck Schumer made this jaw dropping confession about Donald Trump.
Democrats – led by Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi – ventured into the White House for a meeting about infrastructure.
But this meeting never even got started.
Democrats made it clear they took the meeting in bad faith when Speaker Nancy Pelosi accused President Trump of conducting a criminal cover up just hours before.
“We do believe it’s important to follow the facts, we believe that no one is above the law, including the president of the United States,” Pelosi told reporters.
“And we believe that the president of the United States is engaged in a cover-up – in a cover-up. And that was the nature of the meeting.”
Those comments by Pelosi were the clearest sign yet that—despite whatever words of restraint Pelosi and her leadership team will mouth—impeaching Donald Trump is still their true objective.
So when President Trump arrived for the meeting, he simply told the Democrats they could either conduct politically motivated witch hunts as a do-over for the Mueller investigation, or they could go about doing the country’s business.
With that, the President ended the meeting and scheduled a Rose Garden press conference to inform the press that he believed the country was sick and tired of the Democrats political games.
“I came here for a meeting with Democrats, not thinking that they wanted to do infrastructure or anything else other than investigate,” Trump told the press.
“Nancy Pelosi, just before our meeting, made a statement that we believe that the president of the United States is engaged in a cover up.”
“I just wanted to let you know that I walked into the room and told Sen. Schumer, Speaker Pelosi, ‘I want to do infrastructure, I want to do it more than you want to do it. I would be really good at that. That’s what I do. But you know what? You can’t do it under these circumstances. So get these phony investigations over with,’” President Trump added.
Democrats were furious that Donald Trump called their bluff.
So Schumer responded with his own press availability.
And the Democrat Senate Minority Leader confessed to reporters that he and the other Democrats were not prepared for Donald Trump’s hardball tactics.
“To watch what happened in the White House would make your jaw drop,” Schumer began.
“There were investigations going on three weeks ago when we met, and he still met with us. But now that he was forced to actually say how he’d pay for it, he had to run away, and he came up with this pre-planned excuse, and one final point — it’s clear that this was not a spontaneous move on the president’s part,” Schumer added.
“It was planned.”
Schumer and Pelosi are used to Republicans rolling over and refusing to defend themselves.
That is how George W. Bush ended up with a 20 percent approval rating.
But Donald Trump refuses to play that game.
