Republicans began confirmation hearings for Judge Brett Kavanaugh.
Democrats have few options to stop Republicans from putting him on the Supreme Court.
The GOP needs a simple majority vote to win confirmation.
And with 51 Republicans, they will confirm Kavanaugh.
Democrats only hope is a miracle.
That’s why when the hearing began, the Democrats started chaos.
Democrats began interrupting Chairman Chuck Grassley’s opening statements.
Democrats complained they received 42,000 documents the night before the hearing.
But this was nonsense.
Senators like Kamala Harris and Richard Blumenthal already said in July they were voting ‘no’.
So they don’t care what’s in the documents.
Many Democrats also said they would not meet with Kavanaugh.
Harris and her allies were just looking for an excuse to delay the hearing.
So they interrupted Grassley a number of times.
Their goal was to cause so much chaos that the GOP would be forced to stop the hearing.
Democrats want to delay voting on Kavanugh’s confirmation until after the Supreme Court sessions start in October.
That way he won’t be able to judge on key cases.
But their plan failed.
Grassley did not stop the hearing.
He plowed through the Democrats temper-tantrum.
Democrats Hopes For 2018
Republicans hope confirming Kavanaugh will fire up their voter base before the elections.
Democrats know they are going to lose this fight.
So they put on a display to show their base they tried everything they could.
Schumer and other Democrats fear their voters will see this defeat as a sign that all hope is lost.
If Democrat voter turnout dips, Republicans will hang onto Congress.
That is Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi’s nightmare scenario.
If that happens, Democrats will demand new leadership.
Rank-and-file Democrats in the House and Senate would toss them overboard to calm down their unhinged base.
Democrats Other Big Fear
In addition, Democrats fear Kavanaugh will undo 50 years of liberal judges rewriting the laws of the land.
Liberals do not believe the Constitution means what it says.
They claim it is a “living document.”
That means they believe it evolves with the times.

They challenged Trump’s move to end Obama’s DACA amnesty program.
Liberals hope the court will also end Trump’s deportation and sanctuary city crackdowns.
Republicans putting Kavanaugh on the bench would put a stop to Democrats attempts to prevent Trump from carrying out his duties as President.
