Democrats sunk to new lows to try and destroy Judge Brett Kavanaugh.
They launched an 11th-hour smear campaign to stop his confirmation.
But their plan to destroy Donald Trump’s Supreme Court pick backfired and now they may pay the ultimate price.
Schumer and the Democrats use #MeToo to Smear Judge Kavanaugh
Kavanaugh was sailing towards confirmation.
The Democrats lacked the votes to stop him.
Then Senator Diane Feinstein launched a surprise attack.
She gave a letter to the FBI from an unnamed woman.
The woman claimed Kavanaugh tried to rape her at a party back in high school.
Democrats seized on the letter to claim Republicans should delay the vote on Kavanaugh.
Republicans agreed to hold a public hearing on September 24th.
Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley said Kavanaugh and Christine Ford – his accuser – would be invited to testify.
Kavanaugh agreed to show up.
He said Ford’s claim was false.
Kavanaugh also said he would testify to clear his name and shoot down this story.
Critics Raise Red Flags about Christine Ford’s Story
Critics questioned Ford’s story.
She could not remember when or where the attempted rape took place.
In addition, Ford is a Democrat Party activist.
She also never told anyone about the incident until 2012.
And when she told her therapist, she did not name Kavanaugh as her attacker.
But none of those red flags compare to her refusal to testify.
Ford’s lawyer said she would not talk to the committee until the FBI probed the matter.
Her lawyer said Ford is “not prepared to talk with them at a hearing on Monday” and “can’t focus on having a hearing” after receiving “death threats” and “harassment” in recent days.
Schumer backed up Ford.
He claimed the hearing should be delayed until the FBI can prove her story.
Schumer wrote:
Chairman Grassley’s announced hearing on Judge Kavanaugh is a small step: It has to be done right. It can’t be rushed. There must be witnesses. The FBI should be given time to re-open its background investigation. And Senators must have the necessary information before a vote.
Many Republican Senators believe if Ford doesn’t show up, they should vote on Kavanaugh.
It is clear what Ford is doing.
Chuck Schumer’s Real Plan
Ford is working with Schumer and the Democrats to delay a vote on Kavanaugh as long as possible.
If they push the vote past next week, the Senate will not be able to vote on Kavanaugh until next year.
Democrats are betting on winning the Senate.
They will then block any Trump nominee until the 2020 election in the hopes that their candidate defeats the President.
Hawaii Senator Mazie Hirono said, “I think we’ve had those kinds of vacancies before, and we certainly had over a one-year vacancy with Merrick Garland.”
“So the world does not come to an end because we don’t fill all of the nominees,” she added.
Ford’s story is not believable.
Her timing and total lack of proof – as well as her history of being a Democrat Party activist – calls everything she claims into question.
Now her refusal to testify confirms the worst.
This is a Democrat Party scheme to sink the Kavanaugh nomination so a new Democrat President in 2020 can tilt the court to the left for a generation.
