Tucker Carlson is one of the most forceful voices for Donald Trump’s agenda on cable news.
But that makes the highly-rated Fox News host a prime target for the left’s censorship campaign.
And now CNN has a nasty surprise that could end Carlson’s career.
The left seethes over the fact that Fox News is the highest rated cable news channel.
Liberals despise the fact that Fox presents a fair and balanced alternative to the Democrat Party activism of the so-called “mainstream” media.
But while liberals can’t take Fox News off the air, they can attack the bottom line of their highly-rated programs by forcing Fox to fire their conservative stars.
Liberals are now attacking Carlson’s advertisers in an effort to replicate the same sponsor boycotts CNN led that ended up with Fox firing Bill O’Reilly and nearly ending Laura Ingraham’s career.
The left seized on comments Carlson had made on a recent broadcast attacking the left’s love of open borders.
Carlson stated that open borders and mass migration “makes our country poorer, and dirtier, and more divided.”
Liberal groups such as Moveon.org, Media Matters, and Sleeping Giants dusted off their totalitarian playbook and began targeting Carlson’s advertisers.
Their effort to silence Carlson got off on the right foot.
Eleven sponsors, including Indeed.com, BowFlex, Pacific Life, and IHOP all pulled their ads from his program.
CNN celebrated the news in an article on Tuesday.
But Carlson was not about to let the left censor his views.
The Fox News host began his broadcast by going on the offensive against his left-wing critics.
Carlson began, “It happens all the time–the enforcers scream, ‘Racist!’ on Twitter, until everybody gets intimidated and changes the subject to the Russia investigation or some other distraction. It’s a tactic, a well-worn one–nobody thinks it’s real, and it won’t work with this show, we’re not intimidated. We plan to try to say what’s true until the last day.”
“And the truth is, unregulated mass immigration has badly hurt this country’s natural landscape. Take a trip to our southwestern deserts if you don’t believe it. Thanks to illegal immigration, huge swaths of the region are covered with garbage and waste that degrade the soil and kill wildlife,” the Fox News host concluded.
Fox News also released a statement defending Carlson and attacking the left’s ideologically motivated censorship campaign.
“We cannot and will not allow voices like Tucker Carlson to be censored by agenda-driven intimidation efforts from the likes of Moveon.org, Media Matters and Sleeping Giants,” the statement read.
“While we do not advocate boycotts, these same groups never target other broadcasters and operate under a grossly hypocritical double standard given their intolerance to all opposing points of view,” Fox News Channel’s spokesperson concluded.
