For over one year, investigators have hunted around for evidence that the Trump campaign colluded with Russia.
The probe started after the Democrats claimed the Russians hacked the DNC’s email servers.
Now one Congressman claims he has evidence that will turn the investigation upside down.
California Republican Dana Rohrabacher recently met with WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.
Assange claimed he had evidence that would definitively prove the Russians were not behind the email hack of the DNC’s server.
He gave the impression – however – that he would only turn over the proof in exchange for a pardon.
But that does not appear to be the case.
Rohrabacher said in a radio interview that he was attempting to set up a meeting with Trump so he could turn over the evidence himself.
CNN reports:
“Republican Rep. Dana Rohrabacher said Monday that a “rendezvous” is being set up between him and President Donald Trump to relay information he received from WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange about the hack of the Democratic National Committee last year…
… “It is my understanding from other parties who are trying to arrange a rendezvous with myself and the President, it is being arranged for me to give him the firsthand information from (Assange),” Rohrabacher said…
… Earlier in the interview, Rohrabacher said evidence he saw painted the Democratic National Committee hack being an “inside job,” a claim Rohrabacher has made before. The Office of the Director of National Intelligence released an unclassified report in January revealing the conclusions from the CIA, FBI and National Security Agency that the Russian government was behind the hack of the DNC.
“If the information comes out, there will be an outrage among the American people that their time has been wasted,” Rohrabacher said. “They’ve had this story over and over and again shoved down their throats as if the Russians colluded with Donald Trump, and this is an attempt, as I say, to negate their vote in the ballot booth. When the American people realize that this is a con job and a power grab they’ll be upset.”
“I’m trying to get this out in the public now where we can get this Julian Assange thing straightened out so that people know that it wasn’t the Russians that hacked into the system, and that’s not how this information was released,” he said.”
This story is huge.
Previously, The Nation magazine presented forensic evidence that demonstrated the DNC was not hacked, but that the emails provided to WikiLeaks were downloaded from somewhere inside the organization:
“Time stamps in the metadata provide further evidence of what happened on July 5. The stamps recording the download indicate that it occurred in the Eastern Daylight Time Zone at approximately 6:45 pm. This confirms that the person entering the DNC system was working somewhere on the East Coast of the United States. In theory the operation could have been conducted from Bangor or Miami or anywhere in between—but not Russia, Romania, or anywhere else outside the EDT zone. Combined with Forensicator’s findings on the transfer rate, the time stamps constitute more evidence that the download was conducted locally, since delivery overheads—conversion of data into packets, addressing, sequencing times, error checks, and the like—degrade all data transfers conducted via the Internet, more or less according to the distance involved.”
Now Rohrabacher may have proof from a primary source.
Assange knows the origin of the emails.
And he has always maintained they did not come from a state actor, but were provided to WikiLeaks by a whistle blower.
Trump consistently stated that the Russia story was fake news and a hoax.
Now he may soon have the evidence proving him right in hand.
