Joe Biden’s declining poll numbers created a political crisis in the Democrat Party.
It’s opening up an unthinkable conversation about the next presidential election.
And Democrat insiders pushed this one scary name to replace Joe Biden in 2024.
A recent USA Today/Suffolk poll showed just 38 percent of Americans approved of Joe Biden’s job as president.
Biden claimed he would shut down the coronavirus, but instead Biden’s created a state of permanent pandemic by imposing an endless series of mask and vaccine mandates and travel bans.
Inflation surged at the biggest increase in 30 years.
These failures – combined with Biden’s advanced age and clear cognitive decline – created a sense of anxiety on the left about the party’s prospects to retain the White House in 2024.
Now voices on the socialist left believe there is an opening in the 2024 presidential primary for a socialist to win the nomination.
“It’s definitely something that’s brewing under the surface. It’s called the anxiety of the American people, which is causing this scramble in political bubbles about what the possibilities can be,” Bernie Sanders supporter Nina Turner stated.
Turner admitted that if Biden did not seek re-election in 2024 it would create a free-for-all.
“If President Joe Biden does not seek reelection for whatever reason, that makes this a totally open seat. Period,” Turner added.
Turner dismissed the possibility that the establishment favorites to succeed Biden – Vice President Kamala Harris and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg – did not scare anyone and that a candidate seeking to inherit the political mantle of Bernie Sanders would jump into the race.
“There is a strong possibility, obviously, that the current vice president may seek the presidency again,” Turner added. “And there’s an even stronger possibility that others will be seeking the presidency, including people on the progressive left.”
One party official that worked on a 2020 campaign floated Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren as the favorite to emerge as the darling of the left.
“If Harris and Pete are viewed as front-runners, there’s a lot of room for an inspiring, progressive alternative,” a Democrat campaign operative stated. “Someone like [Sen. Elizabeth] Warren [of Massachusetts] could jump in and be a contender.”
Former Bernie Sanders advisor Chuck Rocha predicted that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was the likely future of the party.
“Old-school progressives, old white liberals, are a part of the coalition,” Rochatold The Hill. “But the majority of the coalition looks like the squad. It’s people of color. It’s younger people. It’s really around environmental justice, social justice and, most importantly, economic populism.”
In 2020 Democrats nominated Joe Biden out of fear that socialists like Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren were unelectable.
But in 2024 with an unpopular Biden declining to seek re-election it could open the door for the left to run a socialist candidate for president.
