Democrats hate that President Trump is working to make America great again.
And there’s no place in the country where Trump’s impact on the country is being seen more than in the courts.
And now, one Democratic presidential candidate just declared war on the Supreme Court.
Since taking office, the President has appointed hundreds of judges across America and two Supreme Court judges.
With the highest court in the nation now poised to remake crucial judicial cases from a conservative perspective, Democrats are now panicking like never before.
It wasn’t supposed to be this way for them.
They thought that Hillary Clinton would win the White House in 2016, and appoint her own Supreme Court judges to the bench instead.
And that would have guaranteed a liberal majority on the court that hasn’t been seen in generations.
But instead, Democrats have had to stand by and watch as President Trump put Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh on the court, and there was nothing they could do about it.
Depending on who is asked, most of the Democratic candidates currently running for president have openly declared that they’d like to see the court remade in a liberal majority.
And from threatening to impeach Brett Kavanaugh to packing the court with their own choices, Democrats have several ways they plan to override, overturn, or remake the court in their image if they get a chance.
But one Democratic candidate simply wants to ignore the Supreme Court if he’s elected against Trump.
The Daily Caller reports, “Democratic New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker pledged on Wednesday to override any possible Supreme Court decision and pass a law legalizing abortion nationwide if he wins the presidency in 2020.”
Cory Booker is dead serious about simply ignoring the courts.
“The injustices we’re seeing in Alabama right now with this legislation — it’s important that all of us understand that this is a threat to women’s freedoms and women’s rights all over our country, not just there,” Booker told BuzzFeed News in a recent interview.
“Right now I am calling for [codifying Roe v. Wade],” Booker said. “Even though obviously with [Senate Majority Leader] Mitch McConnell and a [majority Republican] Senate, we would not see a vote.”
Booker is now openly threatening to simply ignore or unilaterally overturn a Supreme Court ruling in order to enshrine abortion into the Constitution.
And he’s not shy about it either.
The Daily Caller reports, “Following in the footsteps of fellow presidential hopeful and Democratic New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, Booker vowed that if he is elected president, he will not nominate any judge to the Supreme Court that would not uphold Roe v. Wade. However, Booker further stated that he would also sign legislation that would make Roe v. Wade national law regardless of how the Supreme Court rules on it.”
“Booker also maintained that as president he would force employer’s insurance to cover contraceptives despite violating sincerely held religious objections and that he would require public health care to expand prenatal care and postpartum care. Moreover, he called for ending the Hyde Amendment so that taxpayers could directly fund abortions,” adds the Daily Caller.
Do you think Booker would be wrong to ignore the Supreme Court as president?
