Democrats launched an 11th-hour sneak attack to destroy Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation to the Supreme Court.
Senator Diane Feinstein revealed a letter from a woman claiming Kavanaugh had tried to rape her while they were in high school.
Liberals thought they won, but instead, they fell into a trap that could ruin their party in 2018.
Democrats Smear Judge Brett Kavanaugh
Feinstein handed the woman’s letter to the FBI just days before the Senate voted on confirming Kavanaugh.
Christine Ford claimed Kavanaugh threw her into a room and tried to rape her during a party when they were in high school.
Democrats claimed the confirmation vote should be delayed until the FBI could investigate the allegations.
Chuck Schumer tweeted:
Senate Republicans ran a transparently partisan confirmation process and then immediately insinuated Prof Ford is being untruthful. They cannot impartially investigate these disturbing allegations. That must be done by the FBI, and the vote must be postponed until it is complete.

But their real goal is to stop the Senate from voting on Kavanaugh until next year.
They are gambling that they’ll win the Senate in November.
Then they can block any Trump nominee.
Democrats want to keep the Supreme Court seat empty because they think their Presidential nominee will defeat Trump in 2020.
That would allow a Democrat President to appoint Justice Kennedy’s successor.
Liberals would then own a 5-4 Supreme Court majority for at least a generation.
Judge Kavanaugh Fires Back
But critics are questioning the timing and motivation behind Ford’s letter.
She is a liberal activist who has attended anti-Trump protest marches.
Ford also turned her letter over to Feinstein in July.
Feinstein sat on the letter until the last possible moment.
She wanted to inflict the maximum amount of damage on Kavanaugh.
Kavanaugh responded by strongly denying Ford’s accusation.
“This is a completely false allegation,” He wrote.
“I have never done anything like what the accuser describes—to her or to anyone. Because this never happened, I had no idea who was making this accusation until she identified herself yesterday. I am willing to talk to the Senate Judiciary Committee in any way the committee deems appropriate to refute this false allegation, from 36 years ago, and defend my integrity.”
Donald Trump also stepped up to defend Kavanaugh.
“Judge Kavanaugh is one of the finest people that I’ve ever known. He is an outstanding intellect and outstanding judge respected by everybody. Never had even a little blemish on his record,” he said.
“If it takes a little delay, it’ll take a little delay.”
Kavanaugh’s Chance To Clear His Name
The Senate is giving Judge Kavanaugh a chance to clear his name.
Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley said they would hold a hearing next Monday.
Kavanaugh and Ford will both appear and answer questions.
Judge Kavanaugh said he would refute Ford’s claims.
But Democrats run a big risk trying to sink Kavanaugh’s nomination.
Republican voters see exactly what they are doing.
And the Democrats antics could help boost Republican turnout this November.
If they succeed in delaying Kavanaugh’s vote, Republicans will turn out in greater numbers if they think control of the Senate is at stake.
