Democrats in Congress are working to tear President Trump’s life to shreds.
They’re trying to investigate every aspect of the President, from his family to his business investments.
But they never expected Trump to fight back with this massive lawsuit against them.
President Donald Trump and Congressional Democrats are locked in a great battle with no end in sight.
The two sides are fighting over Democratic attempts to investigate nearly every bit of President Trump’s existence, including his family, friends, businesses, and personal life.
The fight began when Democrats vowed to investigate banks that lent money to the Trump Organization, and even subpoena them in order to dig up any possible dirt on the President.
But now President Trump is fighting back, suing both Deutsche Bank and Capital One in order to keep private financial records from falling into the hands of Democrats, who simply want to spin whatever they find into an attack on the President.
Even the left-leaning CNN is reporting that “President Donald Trump, three of his children — Donald Jr., Eric and Ivanka — and his business are suing two banks to block them from turning over financial records to congressional committees that have issued subpoenas for the information.”
The lawsuit, filed in New York’s Southern District against Deutsche Bank and Capital One, two of Trump’s lenders, is intended to prevent Democrats from getting a hold of documents about the Trump Organization which they will then use to attack the President with.
Both banks “have long provided business and personal banking services to Plaintiffs,” according to the President’s attorneys.
“The subpoenas were issued to harass President Donald J. Trump, to rummage through every aspect of his personal finances, his businesses, and the private information of the President and his family, and to ferret about for any material that might be used to cause him political damage. No grounds exist to establish any purpose other than a political one,” Trump’s attorneys wrote in the complaint filed late Monday.
Democrats are floored that the President is fighting this hard to stop their plot against him.
But it’s really not all that surprising to see Trump punching back.
It’s this mentality that allowed him to become elected President in the first place, and now Democrats are being caught flat-footed without any Plan B to deal with the lawsuit.
“The subpoenas issued to Deutsche Bank and Capital One by Chairpersons Schiff and Waters are unlawful and illegitimate,” the President’s attorneys state.
“They seek information going back decades from anyone with even a tangential connection to the President, including children, minors and spouses. Every citizen should be concerned about this sweeping, lawless, invasion of privacy. We look forward to vindicating our clients’ rights in this matter.”
As the lawsuit moves forward, Trump is sending a signal that he won’t be bullied by Democrats who are trying to intimidate him.
