Nancy Pelosi has Adam Schiff taking lead in her long-awaited impeachment assault.
The next week is supposed to be their biggest yet.
But Devin Nunes just ruined the rest of her week by revealing a huge secret.
Nancy Pelosi shocked the world when she finally came out in support of impeaching President Donald Trump.
After refusing to support the effort for years, she finally jumped on board in the wake of a complaint from a so-called “whistleblower” claiming that Trump threatened Ukraine’s President in order to force an investigation into Joe Biden.
Even before all the facts were out, Pelosi came out in support, and placed Adam Schiff in charge of leading the inquiry.
Schiff chose to do it Soviet-style, by holding secret hearings where he makes all the rules, and calls the shots.
The few Republicans with access to the hearing room, which became a de facto courtroom, were given almost zero rights, without the ability to bring witnesses forward, and very little ability to question existing witnesses.
This caused the initially popular impeachment hearings to lose a ton of support, getting to the point where mainstream polling companies can’t even display majority support.
So to try to turn things around, Schiff announced that there will be public hearings, where witnesses are hauled before the House Intelligence Committee in a room that will be open to the public.
The media lauded the decision as a move towards more transparency.
But Schiff quickly made clear that his decision was nothing more than a ploy to give that impression.
He is placing major restriction on the ability of Republicans to bring witnesses forward, and warning them that they will not be able to ask all the questions they want to.
So Devin Nunes, who is the ranking Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, is predicting that this week will be a “complete circus.”
“Let’s see how this goes this week,” Nunes said. “My guess is it’s going to be a complete circus. We’re not going to get any of our witnesses. The mainstream media is going to say how damaging it is to the president. That’s just going to be the storyline. But the fact of the matter is if you actually read these transcripts and Gregg Jarrett was just going through them … these transcripts as we were saying when the Democrats were slowly leaking them out to their friends in the media – that’s what we’ve been doing for the last six weeks.”
Nunes goes on to state that the transcripts will be devastating to Democrats.
“But now that the transcripts are out, they’re devastating to the Democrats. So, let’s see where this goes,” Nunes went on to say. “But at the end of the day, the Senate should be calling all these people in as soon as possible.”
This is bad news for the Democrats, who are working overtime to control the narrative.
They want to control all the information that gets out, and the media carefully framed it however they demand it be framed.
So when Nunes comes out speaking against their narrative, it is horrible for Pelosi and Schiff.
