Democrats and their allies in the fake news media are pulling out all the stops to impeach President Trump.
Their efforts just got a boost from one Republican.
And Donald Trump was betrayed on impeachment by one key ally he never suspected.
Tom Bossert served as Donald Trump’s first Homeland Security Advisor.
Bossert left the administration and signed up with ABC News as an on-air contributor.
On the latest broadcast of former Clinton hatchet man George Stephanopoulos’s “This Week” program, Bossert blasted the President for his phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
“I’m deeply disturbed by this as well, and this entire mess has me frustrated,” Bossert told Stephanopoulos.
But that was not all.
Bossert went even further in his criticisms of the President.
“You saw how frustrating and dividing it could be. The whole world is watching this. The removal of a president is a big and serious deal, but the removal of a president — in not only a democracy but the biggest democracy — is really a weighty matter and I hope that everyone can sift through the evidence and be careful, as I’ve seen a lot of rush to judgment this week,” Bossert continued.
The former Trump administration official told Stephanopoulos that “…it is a bad day and a bad week for this president and this country — if he is asking for political dirt on an opponent.”
And to make matters worse, Bossert accused President Trump of being a crank that peddled in conspiracy theories.
During the call with Zelensky, President Trump asked Zelensky to look into allegations that the server that contained Hillary Clinton’s 33,000 deleted emails was located in Ukraine.
Bossert ripped this as debunked nonsense and attacked the President for peddling it.
“It’s not only a conspiracy theory, it is completely debunked. I don’t want to be glib about this matter but last year, retired former Senator Judd Gregg wrote in The Hill magazine Five Ways or Three Ways to Impeach Oneself and the third way was to hire Rudy Giuliani,” Bossert added.
“At this point, I am deeply frustrated with what he and the legal team are doing in repeating that debunked theory to the president. It sticks in his mind when he hears it over and over again. And for clarity here, George, let me just repeat here, again, that it has no validity,” Bossert concluded.
The fake news media could not contain their glee.
Bossert was a respected administration official that is not a bitter Trump hater.
And Bossert’s appearance on ABC bolstered the fake news narrative that President Trump is living in an alternate reality and utilizing misinformation to make official government policy.
This account of President Donald Trump as a lunatic conspiracy theorist is part of the fake news media’s information warfare against the President.
They want to think if the American people see the President as mentally unfit for office, it will sway them toward supporting the Democrats’ impeachment efforts.
And Bossert’s appearance on ABC played right into the fake news media’s hands.
