Donald Trump stepped up big time with a move that raised his supporters’ spirits.
Trump picked the fight that could define the conservative movement.
Donald Trump just filed the one lawsuit Clarence Thomas was waiting for.
Trump appeared at his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey and announced he was filing a class-action lawsuit against the CEOs of Google, Facebook and Twitter for censoring him after falsely claiming Trump incited a supposed “insurrection” on January 6.
“Our case will prove this censorship is unlawful, it’s unconstitutional, and it’s completely un-American,” Trump stated. “Our filing also seeks injunctive relief to allow prompt restitution… because it is destroying our country.”
Trump tied Big Tech to election meddling in 2020.
“You just have to take a look at what happened in recent elections and add up the right numbers,” Trump added. “Social media has given extraordinary power to a group of big tech giants that are working with government, the mainstream media, and a large segment of a political party, to silence and suppress the views of the American people.”
Facebook and Twitter censored the New York Post’s story about the contents of Hunter Biden’s laptop.
Twitter locked the Post out its account under the false claim the Post attained the contents of Hunter Biden’s laptop as the result of hacked material.
Facebook censored the story under the guise of a “fact-check” that was never performed.
Instead, Big Tech pressed their thumb on the scale to rig the election for Biden by denying the public widespread access to negative information about the corruption in his family that is now the subject of a criminal investigation.
A Media Research Center poll after the election found one in six Biden voters would not have voted for Biden if they knew about all the scandals and corruption surrounding Hunter Biden and Joe Biden’s personal conduct.
Big Tech censorship likely tipped the election to Biden.
Trump also ripped the tech giants for treasonous behavior working to protect the Communist Chinese government by removing posts and videos from the internet that proved the coronavirus originated from a leak at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
“Until recently, Facebook had a policy to eliminate all posts sharing evidence that the horrible virus emerged from China. They said, ‘It didn’t emerge from the Chinese lab.’ Remember, I said Wuhan, it was like a bomb went up. ‘It came from the Wuhan lab,’” Trump began.
“Of course there are body bags outside the lab, nobody ever mentions that. I wonder why?” Trump added. “It was finally revealed that this was most likely the truth, that it came from the lab.”
Clarence Thomas appeared to invite a challenge to Big Tech’s monopoly powers and ideologically motivated censorship.
In an opinion earlier this year Thomas compared social media platforms to common carriers – such as the mail or phone services – and wondered why social media could turn off your account, but no reasonable person would suggest the post office or phone company ban you from sending mail or talking on the phone.
Conservatives are tired of left-wing oligarchs setting the rules of what political speech is allowed and what ideas Americans are permitted to read.
Clarence Thomas is looking for a challenge to the tyrannical dominance of Big Tech over the American conversation.
And Trump’s case may be the one.
