The Deep State is at war with Donald Trump.
Their operatives have fed illegal leaks to reporters in an effort to stage a soft coup to remove him from office.
Now Trump just shut down one of the Deep State’s top leakers.
Barack Obama’s former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper has been a figure of great controversy.
Conservatives believe he is one of the anonymous “current and former” intelligence community officials who have fed a steady diet of illegal leaks to the press.
So it was no surprise that Trump-hating CNN signed him up as a “commentator” for their coverage of the Trump administration.
Clapper didn’t disappoint.
He smeared Trump in one of his first appearances on the network, claiming he was “unfit” for office because of the speech he gave at a campaign rally in Phoenix.
CNN reports:
“James Clapper, former director of National Intelligence, said Wednesday morning he questioned President Donald Trump’s fitness for office.
“I really question his ability to be — his fitness to be — in this office, and I also am beginning to wonder about his motivation for it,” Clapper told CNN’s Don Lemon on “CNN Tonight.”
Hours after Trump delivered a defiant speech in Phoenix, Arizona, Clapper said he found the President’s rally “downright scary and disturbing.”
Clapper denounced Trump’s “behavior and divisiveness and complete intellectual, moral and ethical void.”
“How much longer does the country have to, to borrow a phrase, endure this nightmare?”
“He should have quit while he was ahead after last night,” Clapper referring to Trump’s announcement on US strategy in Afghanistan. “Again, I think the real Trump came through.”
Trump didn’t waste any time responding.
He called out Clapper and tweeted:
James Clapper, who famously got caught lying to Congress, is now an authority on Donald Trump. Will he show you his beautiful letter to me?

Trump hit Clapper right where it hurt.
Clapper was caught lying to Congress.
In 2013, Clapper testified that the NSA was not collecting electronic communications.
This was a lie.
Just weeks later, Edward Snowden revealed that Barack Obama’s NSA was illegally collecting every electronic communication from every American.
Game, set, and match for Trump.
