As soon as Donald Trump assumed office, the President made rebuilding America’s military one of his top priorities.
President Trump believed if America had a strong military, America’s geopolitical foes would think twice about challenging her.
Now that the task is complete Donald Trump just gave the United States military the order that is bad news for America’s enemies.
The illegal immigration crisis at the Southern border is an invasion.
Fake news reporters may try to trick the American people into believing otherwise, but that is a fact.
And until recently it was aided and abetted by the Mexican government.
Mexican authorities looked the other way as mobs of illegal aliens numbering in the hundreds of thousands stormed through Mexico on their way to the United States’ Southern border.
Those were not the actions of a friend.
Only a hostile foreign power would choose that course.
That’s why last fall Donald Trump ordered 5,000 U.S. troops to the border.
The soldiers provided logistical support which allowed the Border Patrol to focus on catching illegal aliens trying to sneak across the border.
President Trump’s opponents blasted this move as an election-year stunt and predicted after the votes were counted, the President would draw down the mission since there was no more need to fire up the GOP base.
They were wrong.
President Trump just ordered an additional 2,100 troops to the border.
1,100 of those are active-duty troops and the remaining 1,000 are Texas National Guardsmen.
Donald Trump hinted at this move last spring as Democrats’ refusal to close asylum loopholes led the illegal immigration crisis to spiral out of control.
“I’m going to have to call up more military,” President Trump told supporters in April.
This was no empty bluster.
And the President made good on his word.
The additional troop deployment comes at a time when the President’s other immigration policies are beginning to pay dividends in stopping the illegal alien invasion.
Border arrests declined nearly 30 percent in June after the President struck a deal with Mexico where Mexico stepped up enforcing their own nation’s immigration laws.
The Mexican government also deployed thousands of troops to their Southern border to break up the caravans and buses packed with illegal aliens.
President Trump praised Mexico as taking strong actions to address this crisis while Democrats sat on their hands.
“I want to thank Mexico because they really have gone above and beyond,” President Trump declared. “The borders were run by the cartels, and Mexico is taking back its country. And I give the president a tremendous amount of credit for that because that’s been going on for a long time.”
The Democrats refuse to act, so President Trump is left with no choice but to take every lawful action the Constitution allows.
Deploying additional troops to the border is part of what President Trump hopes will be a successful strategy in thwarting this illegal alien invasion.
