Donald Trump is locked in a bitter war with Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer.
But he just found his ace card.
And in just two words, Trump slammed Pelosi and Schumer like never before.
President Trump doesn’t have to just defeat whoever the Democrats nominate next year in order to win a second term in the White House, he has to defeat Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer too.
Both of them are looking forward to trying to take control of Congress next year.
And Trump has to not just hold the White House, but hold the Senate and retake the House of Representatives as well.
And he may have just found his winning message against Schumer and Pelosi that could secure his second term and retake the House from Pelosi.
It’s an attack that neither Pelosi nor Schumer ever saw coming, but history shows a successful one.
“President Donald Trump expressed frustration with Democrats for focusing on investigating his presidency more than working with him on important legislation,” Breitbart reports.
“The Democrats have become known as THE DO NOTHING PARTY!” Trump wrote on Twitter.
First off, this charge is absolutely true.
The only thing Democrats in the House have done since taking control earlier this year was stonewall Trump’s signature achievements, send out subpoenas against his family members and administration officials, and investigate bogus claims about him in order to damage his re-election bid next year.
They’re not interested in governing the country with him, they’re interested in creating chaos and capitalizing off of it.
Secondly, attacking Congress for doing nothing has historically been a successful strategy for presidents.
Harry Truman used this approach in 1948 when he was running for a second term as President, and he ultimately won the election by attacking Congress for being a “Do Nothing Congress” even when all the polls had him losing.
More recently, Barack Obama won a second term in 2012 when he attacked the Republican-controlled House of Representatives as being a “Do Nothing Congress”.
There are several more examples of this in past presidential elections, and polls routinely show President Trump is far more popular than either Pelosi or Schumer, and he’s much more popular than Congress as a whole.
So for Trump to run on a campaign of not just attacking whoever the Democrats nominate, but also Pelosi and Schumer, is a sign that he may have just found his winning strategy for 2020.
“Trump said Democrats were only attempting to reboot the Mueller investigation despite it finding no collusion with Russia during the 2016 election and no obstruction,” adds Breitbart. “Trump pointed out Democrats failure to pass any meaningful legislation after seizing a majority in the House of Representatives.”
Trump tweeted, “Zero is getting done with the Democrats in charge of the House. All they want to do is put the Mueller Report behind them and start all over again,” he wrote. “No Do-Overs!”
Do you think this could be Trump’s winning message in 2020?
