Americans used to be able to count on Fox News to provide coverage of the Trump administration that avoided the fake news media’s hysteria and anti-Trump bias.
But that no longer appears to be the case.
And that’s because Fox News just made this major change that left Donald Trump seeing red.
Donald Trump announced he was withdrawing 50 American troops from the border at Northern Syria.
This paved the way for the Turkish military to stage an operation that many in America falsely claimed amounted to abandoning America’s Kurdish allies.
Turkey has long viewed the Marxist PPK group as a terrorist organization.
President Trump pitched his move in Syria as fulfilling his campaign promise to end America’s involvement in endless and pointless Middle Eastern wars.
“I was elected on getting out of these ridiculous endless wars, where our great Military functions as a policing operation to the benefit of people who don’t even like the USA. The two most unhappy countries at this move are Russia & China, because they love seeing us bogged down, watching over a quagmire, & spending big dollars to do so. When I took over, our Military was totally depleted. Now it is stronger than ever before. The endless and ridiculous wars are ENDING! We will be focused on the big picture, knowing we can always go back & BLAST!” the President wrote on social media.
Trump supporters were shocked to see multiple Fox News hosts join the Washington swamp consensus in favor of America intervening in a Middle Eastern country that no one can explain how this action benefits the American people.
Left-wing Fox News hosts attacked President Trump’s decision as a cynical ploy to distract from impeachment during a segment with Brookings Institution senior fellow Michael O’Hanlon.
“I ask because you wonder how much of this really is the politics of distraction,” Smith ranted to O’Hanlon after asking if troops were already on the move. “There is a lot on the president today. There’s a second whistleblower. There is so much going on, a late-night announcement like this, and then all of the Republicans are turning on him, the leader in the Senate, Lindsey Graham – you name it – Republicans have come out against him on this. So you wonder if it is not one of those things to get people to talk about all day and then at some point and he’ll go, ‘eh, never mind.’”
Fox and Friends co-host Brian Kilmeade – often seen as an ally of President Trump – also ripped the decision.
“This is allies in our area and future allies saying, would it pay off to ever stay with America when we do this? … And now you’ve got thousands of ISIS fighters, the worst of the worst, killers, that are going to go into Turkey to watch. And they’re not going to keep them. They’re going to go fanned out and reconfigure. We’re going to be right back there,” Kilmeade ranted.
“[Y]ou pull out of Iraq, and in six months, ISIS is back…we’re about to make the same mistake again,” Kilmeade added.
Donald Trump’s “America First” foreign policy was a major reason he won the election.
But elites in Washington and in the media support war whenever and wherever they can start one.
Even though these conflicts drain America’s treasury and cost the lives of troops, no one in Washington can explain how they benefit the American people.
The American people want the troops home while the swamp wants them defending the borders of faraway countries.
This is one of the biggest disconnects in America.
