Fox News hit a rough patch.
The network’s seen some on-air programming changes and President Trump blasted the network for moving left.
And now the next Fox News host to get fired is the last one anyone ever expected.
Fox News Channel’s “straight news” hosts bent over backwards in recent months to criticize President Trump.
Things got so bad Rush Limbaugh declared the channel should change its name to the Never Trump Network.
Some Fox News viewers suspect the “straight news” hosts go out of their way to whack President Trump with negative stories to prove to their liberal media counterparts that they aren’t “state TV” and that there really is a wall between the daytime news programs and the primetime opinion hosts.
“Fox News Sunday” host Chris Wallace is one of Fox’s signature hosts.
And in recent months he’s falsely criticized the President on the Mueller report, Ukraine and now Syria.
Instead of doing the news, Wallace spouts off Democrat Party clichés and talking points.
The latest example came on the most recent broadcast of his Sunday show where Wallace joined the Washington swamp pile on for President Trump keeping his promise to end Barack Obama’s disastrous war in Syria by withdrawing American troops.
“I am not often or easily shocked here at the anchor chair on Sunday mornings, but I have to say that the conjunction of reports that the Turkish-backed militia are committing atrocities and slaughtering, executing Kurdish civilians and soldiers, the fact that ISIS fighters are escaping, that the president has decided to pull all U.S. forces out of northern Syria and allow the Kurds to make common cause with the Assad regime and Russians, I find that shocking,” Wallace ranted.
Wallace attacked the President’s stated rationale that they are withdrawing American troops because it isn’t the United States’ job to secure the Syrian border with Turkey.
“But we have deployed U.S. troops around the world for more than half a century, in a sense, not to fight wars. 35,000 thousand U.S. troops right now in Germany, 26,000 right now in South Korea, 55,000 in Japan… What President Trump calls a police force has been a decision that if the U.S. puts troops on borders as tripwires, if you will, that sometimes — oftentimes, in some — these cases, for decades, it prevents wars,” Wallace whined.
But Trump and his supporters point out Wallace falsely described the situation in Syria.
Turkey is a NATO ally.
The United States even houses nuclear missiles in Turkey.
Syria and the Assad regime are America’s stated enemy.
And the Kurds in Syria’s Northern Region are part of the PKK which both the Obama administration and the Turkish government consider a terrorist organization.
Wallace is asking Donald Trump to deploy American troops to defend an enemy’s border to prevent an ally from launching a military operation against a known terrorist organization.
The illogic of that situation is why Donald Trump decided the American involvement in the Syrian civil war needed to come to an end.
In the wake of Trump critic Shepard Smith leaving Fox News, many viewers wondered if Wallace was the next Trump hater out the door.
