There are major changes happening at Fox News Channel.
Viewers noted the network’s news programming shifted against President Trump.
And now Fox News took this host off the air for the last reason anyone ever suspected.
Far-left Fox News host Shepard Smith shocked viewers by announcing at the end of his latest broadcast that this would be his final on-air appearance at Fox News.
Smith was one of Fox News Channel’s original hires in 1996.
Fox News made him the face of the network’s daytime “straight news” programming.
But ever since Donald Trump won the White House, Smith stopped doing the news.
His show turned into an hour-long rant against the Trump administration which Smith’s far-left political viewers substituted for news.
The final straw for Smith was his feud with Tucker Carlson where Carlson accurately pointed out that Smith was an enraged liberal spewing Democrat Party talking points and calling that “news.”
The Daily Beast exclusively reported that, “A Fox insider told The Daily Beast that Smith was sick of being attacked by his primetime colleagues and asked for a way out of his contract. An effort was made to appease him, the insider said, but he ultimately decided to leave Fox behind.”
Smith’s show was one of the lowest rated on Fox.
Viewers tuned in for the news and instead watched as Smith threw liberal propaganda in their faces.
Smith asked to be let out of his contract and the fact that Fox paid Smith an astronomical $15 million a year to deliver poor ratings made it an easy decision.
Smith released a statement with nothing but praise for Fox News after his departure.
“Recently I asked the company to allow me to leave FOX News and begin a new chapter. After requesting that I stay, they graciously obliged. The opportunities afforded this guy from small town Mississippi have been many,” Smith’s statement read.
“It’s been an honor and a privilege to report the news each day to our loyal audience in context and with perspective, without fear or favor. I’ve worked with the most talented, dedicated and focused professionals I know and I’m proud to have anchored their work each day—I will deeply miss them,” the statement continued.
But in his final signoff, Smith displayed the condescending liberal arrogance that turned off many viewers.
“Even in our currently polarized nation, it’s my hope that the facts will win the day,” Smith ranted. “That the truth will always matter, that journalism and journalists will thrive.”
President Trump – who was no fan of Smith’s – celebrated the decision on social media.
“Is he leaving due to bad ratings, or some other less important reason?” the President asked on Twitter.
Fox did not announce a permanent replacement for Smith.
But whoever eventually takes over the 3 PM hour will be an improvement over Smith as they will deliver the news and not try to hypnotize the audience with left-wing mumbo jumbo.
Great American Daily will keep you up to date on any new developments in the ongoing changes at Fox News Channel.
