Donald Trump and his supporters are wondering what is going on over at Fox News Channel.
On Rush Limbaugh’s program, President Trump stated that he believed Fox News was moving to the left.
And now Fox News made one declaration that left Mike Pence shaking his head in disbelief.
“Fox News Sunday” host Chris Wallace attracted widespread criticism for his performance as moderator of the first presidential debate.
Wallace acted like Joe Biden’s tag team partner by interrupting President Trump, bickering with the President and allowing Joe Biden to repeatedly interject and cut into President Trump’s speaking time.
As bad as that performance was, Wallace descended even further into Trump Derangement Syndrome with his analysis following the vice presidential debate between Mike Pence and Kamala Harris.
It was clear to viewers that Vice President Pence soundly defeated Kamala Harris.
Pence controlled the flow of the debate, effectively parried Harris from being attacked and routinely savaged Joe Biden’s radical record and socialist policy agenda.
But despite what was clear to most fair-minded viewers, Wallace praised Harris’ performance as crossing the bar of ‘can she be presidential.’
“I think going into tonight, the Biden campaign had one concern, and it wasn’t whether or not Kamala Harris was going to be sufficiently likable,” Wallace claimed. “It was whether or not people were going to be able to at the end of the night to envision her as being a heartbeat away from the presidency, which she in terms of her knowledge, command of the facts, her policy, would she seem presidential? And I don’t think she did anything at all tonight to disqualify herself in that sense. So, if they came into the night leading, I think they left the night — the Biden campaign did — with the lead.”
Fox News contracted pollster Frank Luntz to commission a focus group of undecided voters.
Those voters did not buy Wallace’s pro-Biden spin and declared Pence the winner precisely because they did not view Harris’ performance as presidential.
“If this is a battle over style and substance, which is often the case with undecided voters, because they simply do not choose on policy, they also choose on persona, this was Mike Pence’s night,” Luntz stated.
“I want to emphasize it’s not that Pence did so well, because they felt both candidates were not answering the questions as well as they would have liked,” Luntz added. “They were more upset with Kamala Harris’s reactions to Pence — the smiling, the smirking, the scowling. They were angrier at that than they were that Mike Pence went over his time in almost every debate.”
Wallace’s analysis and interviews become more wildly anti-Trump and pro-Biden the longer the campaign goes on.
And many Trump supporters are worried that the deck is already stacked high enough against the President and that the one network that gives Donald Trump a fair shake now may be turning against him.
