Kamala Harris was hoping no one would notice.
But someone did.
Now Fox News pointed out the one disturbing thing Kamala Harris refuses to do.
More than two weeks after Joe Biden tapped Kamala Harris to oversee the crisis at the southern border, Harris ducked any media availability and refuses to answer questions about her role and the spiraling calamity.
Fox News reported:
Vice President Kamala Harris continued to draw criticism Wednesday about her absence from the U.S.-Mexico border region — and for not facing reporters about her role as President Biden’s border czar.
Her most recent detractors included former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley, who called Harris “missing in action” on Wednesday and said, “God help us if she ever becomes president.”
The vice president has so far avoided a border visit — or a news conference about her border-related duties — despite having visited Southern California over Easter weekend. She has now gone 15 days without holding a news conference about the border since taking on her new role.
Biden handed Harris a stinker of a job.
Border Patrol officials project that the current border surge will last at least seven more months.
The Biden administration is detaining a record nearly 19,000 illegal alien kids in cages.
And in March, the Border Patrol apprehended 171,000 illegal aliens at the border—which is the biggest number of attempted border crossings in nearly two decades.
That number does not include the number of illegal aliens the Border Patrol did not intercept and successfully snuck across the border.
The scale and scope of this disaster is staggering.
And considering Joe Biden is under tremendous pressure from the left to resist reimposing Donald Trump’s successful policies, it looks like the administration can’t chart a path out of this crisis.
Joe Biden’s biggest political vulnerability in the polls is the handling of the border crisis.
That’s why he shunted the mess off onto Kamala Harris.
Since Harris is now responsible for the border, Biden can just say “ask the Vice President” when reporters ask him about the crisis at the border.
But Harris wants no part of this situation.
Being seen as the one responsible for failing to control the illegal alien surge at the border could define Harris in the minds of voters which will cripple her 2024 prospects in the likely event Joe Biden does not seek a second term.
Harris has adopted an out of sight, out of mind strategy with the border.
In addition to not holding a press conference to answer questions about her plans to bring the border crisis under control, Harris has not visited the border.
Instead she visited a bakery.
But Harris is hoping if she doesn’t acknowledge the border crisis the media will forget about it as well.
