Donald Trump may have a new beef with Fox News Channel.
Trump and the top-rated cable news network were at odds after the election, but tensions simmered down.
But now Fox News posted a video of Donald Trump, and everyone noticed one strange thing.
Trump spokeswoman Liz Harrington posted on social media that Fox News edited out comments Donald Trump made in an interview with Fox News host Dan Bongino about his contention that voter fraud swung the 2020 election to Joe Biden.
“WOW. So I went to post a clip from President Trump’s great interview from @FoxNews last night, and lo and behold, Fox News EDITED and CHANGED what President Trump said, censoring out 45 accurately describing the Fake Election,” Harrington wrote.
In the interview, Trump listed the 2020 election as an issue animating Americans to turn against Joe Biden as polls show Biden’s approval ratings plummeting.
“It’s a disgrace what’s happening, and I don’t think the country’s gonna stand for much longer, they are disgusted. You have a fake election, you have an election with voter abuse and voter fraud like nobody’s ever seen before, and based on that, and based on what happened, they are destroying our country, whether it’s at the border, whether it’s on crime, and plenty of instances, including military,” Trump stated.
In the clip that appeared on YouTube, Trump’s comments read as “It’s a disgrace what’s happening, and I don’t think the country’s gonna stand for much longer, they are disgusted. They are destroying our country, whether it’s at the border, whether it’s on crime, and plenty of instances, including military.”
Harrington’s tweet led to angry Trump supporters demanding to know why Bongino and Fox News censored Trump’s comments.
Bongino later told Harrington that YouTube edited the video and not Fox News.
“The show was edited on YouTube, not on http://Foxnews.com and not during the show live…The reason I was given is that it was edited, the elections part, to comply with YouTube. That’s not acceptable to me,” Bongino’s statement to Harrington read.
YouTube censors and removes videos of Trump claiming voter fraud in the last election.
Social media companies will not allow anyone to question the outcome of the 2020 election.
Even before Election Day, Twitter began censoring President Trump’s tweets that warned about the risks of mail-in voting.
Democrats who spent four years claiming the Russians rigged the 2016 election – Nancy Pelosi even went so far as to say it was “hijacked” – faced no sanction and were free to undermine democracy and faith in elections as they saw fit.
The Big Tech oligarchs give Donald Trump and Republicans no such leeway on social media.
And Dan Bongino learned that lesson the hard way.
