Ilhan Omar may have finally met her match.
The scandal-plagued Congresswoman is one of the most controversial Democrats in America.
And now Ilhan Omar could be deported because of this lawsuit.
Back in March, conservative activist Larry Klayman – who runs Freedom Watch – filed a petition urging the Department of Homeland Security to investigate Omar’s citizenship status.
For weeks, nothing happened.
And then Klayman filed a complaint with the U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C. to compel the Department of Homeland Security to move forward with the investigation of Omar.
“Rep. Ilhan Omar (and her House colleague Rashida Tlaib who just yesterday announced that she gets a calming feeling from the Holocaust) must be held accountable for their actions. Both are not only vehemently anti-Judeo-Christian, but represent a threat to the well-being of all Americans who believe in freedom of religion and the vision of our Founding Fathers. Both are not just a disgrace, but demonstrative of the rapid decline of our institutions,” Klayman declared.
Klayman cited three grounds on which Omar was in violation of U.S. law.
First, Klayman claimed that Omar committed marriage fraud—which puts her on the wrong side of the 1986 Immigration Act.
These allegations surfaced during her 2018 Congressional campaign when an anonymous post on an online message board for the Somali community claimed Ahmed Nur Said Elmi – whom Omar had been married to – was really her brother.
Omar denied these allegations and no records have surfaced to prove or disprove the allegation.
Next, Klayman pointed to the fact that Omar was living in Kenya when she was granted citizenship.
Klayman argued that this ran afoul of immigration law because Omar resided in “the resort city of Mombasa, Kenya, famous for its magnificent beaches on the Indian Ocean, and a magnet for wealthy tourists from Europe and around the world,” and not in Somalia where she had a credible claim to living in a dangerous environment.
Finally, Klayman argued that Omar’s association with alleged terrorist-connected groups like the Council on American-Islamic Relations and the Islamic Society of North America raise questions about her “support for terror.”
All in all, Klayman is asking the District Court to issue a “…writ of mandamus…and defendant should be ordered to immediately commence a thorough and bona fide investigation and hold an evidentiary hearing, and if necessary institute … deportation proceedings and a criminal referral.”
Klayman’s motion comes after a string of anti-Semitic and anti-American comments have brought Omar’s character into question.
Omar recently declared in a speech that the 9/11 terrorist attacks were nothing more than “something” committed by “some people.”
The Minnesota Democrats also attacked Jewish Americans for having dual loyalty and slurred them with accusations of buying off American politicians.
This lawsuit is Klayman’s attempt to hold her accountable for her outrageous conduct and alleged violations of U.S. law.
