Jeff Sessions and President Trump have had a rocky few months.
Many have even speculated that Trump was close to firing him.
But now one thing Sessions did might not only bring the two back together, it could also bring down the entire Clinton family.
As we’ve reported in the past, Bill and Hillary Clinton are caught up in a bribery scandal that took place before the Obama administration’s controversial decision to allow Russia to purchase 20 percent of America’s uranium supply.
This is just one of many scandals they’ve found themselves in, but it’s one that’s gaining steam.
And now that the rumors that Jeff Sessions had recused himself from the investigation into this matter have turned out to be false, things could end badly for the Clinton’s.
As reported by The Washington Free Beacon:
“Department of Justice (DOJ) sources disputed reports late Friday that Attorney General Jeff Sessions has recused himself from decisions involving potential investigations into alleged corruption surrounding a deal that gave Russia control of a large portion of U.S. uranium-mining capacity.
DOJ officials told the Free Beacon that Sessions has not recused himself from deciding how the Justice Department should respond to recent reports raising questions about the Obama administration’s approval of a 2010 purchase of Uranium One, which controlled 20 percent of U.S. uranium, by Russian energy company Rosatam.
Sessions, in his role as attorney general, could recommend an internal DOJ investigation into the matter or appoint an outside special counsel to handle it.
For months, President Donald Trump has blasted Sessions for recusing himself from the probe into Russian meddling in the election and Moscow’s alleged ties to the Trump campaign. Sessions’s recusal led to the appointment of former Robert Mueller as special counsel in charge of the Russia probe.
Following Mueller’s first round of indictments in the Russia probe this week, Trump expressed frustration over his inability to get involved in Justice Department decisions and what investigations it launches.
On Friday morning he tweeted: “Everybody is asking why the Justice Department (and FBI) isn’t looking into all of the dishonesty going on with Crooked Hillary & the Dems…””
You see, while the Clinton’s claim they weren’t involved in the bribery scandal, and that there was nothing they could do, the evidence is starting to stack against them.
While it is true that as Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton did not have direct decision-making authority, she did have oversight and knowledge, but did nothing.
But while Hillary may have some plausible deniability, Bill Clinton is accused of being much more directly involved.
According to The Hill, Bill sought clearance from the State Department to meet with officials from the Russian nuclear energy firm Rosatom, which is the company that needed Obama’s approval for the uranium deal.
While Bill was not able to meet with the officials, he did end up meeting with Vladimir Putin at his private homestead.
Do you think Jeff Sessions has the evidence he needs to take down the Clinton’s?
