Now Joe Biden got handed new poll numbers that put a knot in every Democrat’s stomach.
A new Fox News poll showed the depths of the political problems Biden faced after a summer where the American people saw incompetence on display in domestic and foreign policy on behalf of Joe Biden.
Most disturbing for Biden and his allies, just 49 percent of Americans think Joe Biden is mentally fit to serve as president.
Biden’s mental acuity became a serious issue during the Afghanistan debacle as Biden’s feeble performance in his public appearances – where he rarely took questions – shook Americans’ confidence in Biden’s leadership.

While 49 percent said yes, 48 percent said no. When respondents were asked weeks before, between September 7-10, 49 percent said yes, and only 45 percent said no, handing Biden three more points of less confidence in his mental soundness on Sunday.
On the question asking if respondents believe “Joe Biden is a strong leader, or not?” only 45 percent said yes, down four points from October of 2020. Fifty-three percent said Biden is not a strong leader, up eight points since October 2020.
The poll also asked, “Do you think the country has become more or less united since Joe Biden took office?” Fifty-four percent of the country is less united, while 37 percent said the country is more united since Biden took office.
The questions about Biden’s cognitive abilities impacted the perception of Biden as a strong leader.
No president can win re-election if the public doesn’t see him as a strong leader.
The Fox News poll found a majority of Americans – 53 percent – believe Biden is not a strong leader.
That number stood out as a huge red flag for Joe Biden’s political health.
If Joe Biden cannot right the ship – and this Fox News poll suggests Joe Biden faces a difficult path to rebuilding his image with Americans – Democrats face a rocky political environment moving forward.
For months, the corporate media crowed that Joe Biden was a broadly popular president with stable approval ratings that never budged no matter how events played out.
In reality, Biden enjoyed a typical honeymoon period that every president – save Donald Trump due to the Deep State coup waged against him from the second he won the election – went through when they first came into office.
But even in the honeymoon period Biden saw lower approval numbers than Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama.
Once the news cycle turned negative on Biden beginning with the disastrous decision to reimpose mask mandates, Biden’s approval numbers tanked.
And this Fox News poll reveals that the damage to Joe Biden may be permanent.
