Joe Biden’s political standing is hanging by a thread.
Now the situation is even more dire.
And that’s because Joe Biden got hit with an ultimatum that is the bad news that could end his presidency.
Democrats planned a two-step maneuver to breathe life back into Joe Biden’s flailing presidency.
The first involved holding a vote in the House of Representatives on a $1.2trillionfake infrastructure bill that was really a down payment on the Green New Deal.
This bill served as a political cover to allow moderates to vote for a $3.5trillionbill that Bernie Sanders drafted to impose a much larger portion of the Green New Deal and act as the greatest expansion of socialism in the American nation’s history.
To win the ability to advance the Bernie Sanders bill, Nancy Pelosi promised a vote on the $1.2trillion bill by September 27.
But socialists like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez worried that once moderate Democrats pass the $1.2trillion fake infrastructure bill they will lose their appetite for the Bernie Sanders spending bill and the left will lose the last best chance to push America closer to becoming a socialist nation.
Ocasio-Cortez and her allies threatened to vote down the smaller bill unless Pelosi held a vote on the Bernie Sanders $3.5 trillion socialist welfare state and Green New Deal bill.
Pelosi cannot deliver on that request as Bernie Sanders will not be able to finish writing his bill by the 27th and Democrats can’t even agree on the price tag with moderate senators drawing a line saying they will not support that much spending.
Biden’s agenda took another body blow when Arizona Senator Kyrsten Sinema met with Joe Biden and told Biden to his face that she would not support the Sanders bill if Pelosi delays the vote scheduled for the 27th or if the vote fails, Sinema will not vote for the Sanders bill.
POLITICO Playbook reports:
MODS TO BIDEN: BIF NOW OR BUST — Sen. KYRSTEN SINEMA (D-Ariz.) delivered a tough message to President JOE BIDEN at a private meeting Wednesday, we’re told: If the House delays its scheduled Sept. 27 vote on the bipartisan infrastructure plan — or if the vote fails — she won’t be backing a reconciliation bill.
Sinema’s vote is live ammunition as Democrats intend to pass the Sanders socialist spending binge through budget reconciliation which requires all 50 Democrats vote together.
Even one defection kills the bill.
In response, Ocasio-Cortez doubled down her demand to vote on both bills at the same time which Pelosi could only accomplish by delaying the September 27th vote.
“I will not vote for an infrastructure bill unless we have reconciliation ready to go,” Ocasio-Cortez told CNN.
But if Pelosi acceded to Ocasio-Cortez’s blackmail, it would be a pyric victory as moderates would feel betrayed and vote down the $3.5trillion bill in return.
“If they delay the vote — or it goes down — then I think you can kiss reconciliation goodbye,” Oregon Democrat Congressman Kurt Schrader told Playbook. “Reconciliation would be dead.”
Democrats’ internal divisions tanking the spending bills would deliver the death blow to the Biden administration.
Biden’s poll numbers tumbled into a freefall as Biden racked up failures on COVID, the border, inflation, jobs, crime and Afghanistan.
Pelosi and Chuck Schumer intended the passage of these bills to get Biden’s presidency back on track.
But the internal Democrat Party civil war may derail those plans.
