The presidential campaign may no longer be the most important story in America.
But that does not mean that the coronavirus outbreak won’t dictate the shape of the race.
And that’s bad news for Democrats because Joe Biden is sitting on a coronavirus time bomb that is about to ruin him.
Democrats and their allies in the fake news media settled on a false narrative about the coronavirus outbreak that Donald Trump dismissed the virus as a hoax and twiddled his thumbs while the coronavirus spread uncontrollably across the globe as it made its silent march towards America.
That is not true.
While President Trump made comments in public intended to calm the public and not raise unnecessary panic among the population, the President took the threat of the virus seriously as evidenced by President Trump instituting a travel ban from China when Democrats and the fake news media slammed him as “racist.”
This line of attack became even more problematic for Democrats when Biden campaign senior advisor Ron Klain did an interview with the left-wing “Pod Save America” podcast.
Klain downplayed the threat of the virus, telling the hosts Americans had no reason to be fearful or to panic, stating:
Leading medical experts didn’t know it existed six weeks ago. So, there’s just a lot of uncertainty about the basics, uncertainty about how infectious it truly is, how much it’s going to spread, how much it’s spread already in China, how much we should expect it to spread outside of China, doubts about how lethal it is, what will the fatality rate, the rate of serious illnesses wind up being.
So what I’d say is I think we have reason to be concerned. I think there’s reason for the U.S. to be more aggressive in response than what’s been mounted so far in many respects, a reason to be prepared for something. But I think no reason yet to be fearful, no reason to really panic or anything like that. I think there’s just a lot of unknowns about this virus and what its path is going to be.
Klain developed a mythical image in the fake news media after now-disgraced actor Kevin Spacey portrayed Klain – who served as an advisor to Al Gore during the 2000 presidential election – in the HBO movie Recount and for his time as Barack Obama’s Ebola czar during the 2014 outbreak.
Joe Biden’s “expert” on pandemic response was giving largely the same answer in public as President Trump.
But unlike President Trump, Klain was in no position to take action.
Donald Trump did move to protect the public.
And the American people recognize this fact.
That’s why polls show the public approves of the job President Trump is doing in managing the coronavirus outbreak.
