And Joe Biden just revealed the one thing that could land a top ally in jail.
In an interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos, Joe Biden finally weighed in on the scandal surrounding New York Governor Andrew Cuomo.
Stephanopoulos asked Biden if he thought Cuomo should resign if the investigation by the New York Attorney General validated the sexual harassment and sexual assault allegations against Cuomo.
“Yes,” Biden stated, adding that he thinks if the allegations are true Cuomo could end up in jail. “I think he’ll probably end up being prosecuted, too.”
Biden reaffirmed his support for an investigation into the allegation against Cuomo.
“There should be an investigation to determine whether what she says is true,” Biden told Stephanopoulos. “That’s what’s going on now.”
But Biden went further than many Democrats and suggested that Cuomo could face jail based on the results of this investigation.
He added: “There could be a criminal prosecution that is attached to it. I just don’t know.”
Biden then blabbered on and his next answer created headaches for himself.
In the interview, Biden claimed that women who came forward should be assumed to be telling the truth.
Biden said that “a woman should be presumed telling the truth and should not be scapegoated and become victimized by her coming forward.”
“Takes a lot of courage to come forward,” Biden continued. “So, the presumption is they should be taken seriously. And it should be investigated. And that’s what’s underway now.”
Andrew Cuomo has lost all support among elected Democrats in New York.
Both Senators—Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand—called on Cuomo to resign.
The majority of the state’s congressional delegation—including Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez—also called on Cuomo to step down.
Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are the two Democrats that could push Cuomo over the edge with an immediate call for resignation.
Instead, Joe Biden threw Cuomo—who Biden outrageously claimed set the “gold standard” for leadership during the coronavirus pandemic—a lifeline.
Many in the Democrat media made a big deal out of Biden saying Cuomo should step down if the allegations were true.
But there isn’t anyone in America that thinks a governor found guilty of sexual assault and harassment should remain in office.
Joe Biden’s comment about Cuomo facing prosecution was more important.
Politicians like Cuomo that find themselves wrapped up in these scandals often find that resigning from office is a way to avoid prosecution.
However, even Joe Biden is calling for Cuomo to face criminal prosecution if these allegations bear out.
