Joe Biden’s presidential campaign is in complete free fall.
Once the top Democrat in the field, Biden is now falling behind Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris, and others in a way that has left political pundits across America in utter shock.
And now, Biden is on the verge of losing everything thanks to one thing he least expected.
Former Vice President Joe Biden is turning out to be the biggest political bust of the 2020 election cycle.
Once hailed as the savior of the party and the inevitable Democratic standard bearer against President Donald Trump in the upcoming 2020 elections, Biden has seen his campaign implode almost from day one.
Since launching his campaign earlier this year, Biden’s standing in the Democratic primary polls has plummeted.
There are other signs as well that Biden’s campaign is in trouble.
He lags behind in fundraising from the last reported quarter, and his cash on hand is lower than other Democrats in the field as well, including Bernie Sanders.
But there’s one more reason Biden’s campaign is on the verge of a total meltdown.
And it’s something that Team Biden has no clue about.
Bloomberg reports, “Joe Biden campaigns like time is the only thing standing between him and the Democratic nomination. But there are growing signs that his third bid for the presidency is anything but ‘inevitable.’
“His performance during the first Democratic debate in Miami did little to assure people who worry whether he has the gumption to take on what is certainly going to be a nasty general election against Trump. Under attack from California Senator Kamala Harris, he seemed lethargic, lost his train of thought in mid-answer, and seemed ill-prepared,” adds Bloomberg.
And that debate performance may have marked the beginning of the end for Biden’s low energy presidential campaign.
The former Vice President just does not seem to have the fire in him to keep up with other competitors in the field, who have now begun to eclipse him in major metrics which are routinely used to track how well a candidate is doing in a primary race, including fundraising, endorsements, and polling.
And there’s one poll, in particular, that should give the Biden campaign cause for alarm.
“Biden wasn’t given especially high marks for the campaign he’s run so far, with 32% saying Harris has been strongest, with 24% tipping toward Warren and 22% saying Biden,” reports Bloomberg.
This is nothing short of a monumental disaster in the waiting for Biden and his team.
With the frontrunner now starting to dip in the polls, the sign that Democratic primary voters are starting to recognize is that Biden has been running a poor campaign could end up translating into a switch in primary support to other “stronger” candidates.
And those who stand to gain the most include Elizabeth Warren and Kamala Harris, who have since emerged as key alternatives to Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden respectively.
