Joe Biden’s presidential campaign is back in the headlines.
This time it is bad news for the Democrats.
And that’s because Joe Biden may have to drop out of office because of this sex scandal.
Former Vice President Biden is the all but certain Democrat Party nominee for president.
The coronavirus outbreak delaying a series of presidential primaries until June is the only thing preventing Biden from winning enough delegates to claim the mantle of “presumptive nominee” heading into the convention in Milwaukee that is slated for this summer.
That left Biden in limbo as President Trump dominated the daily headlines with his televised coronavirus task force briefings.
Biden tried to recapture the spotlight with his own briefings, but since he was just a challenger and his ability to affect policy was nonexistent, it became clear that nothing he had to say was important and the briefings generated little news.
Unfortunately for the Biden campaign, the former Vice President did end up back in the headlines.
Former Biden staffer Tara Reade sat for an interview with journalist Katie Halper in which Reade credibly accused Joe Biden of sexually assaulting her when Reade worked in Biden’s Senate office back in 1993.
Reason Magazine’s Robbie Soave wrote about Halper’s interview, “Reade says she worked for Biden in the early 1990s and asserts that she was unambiguously assaulted by him in 1993. According to Reade, he began kissing her without her permission, pushed her against a wall, reached under her skirt, and penetrated her with his fingers.”
“He said ‘come on man, I heard you liked me,'” Reade recalled to Halper in the interview. “For me, it was like, everything shattered. I looked up to him, he was like my father’s age, he was this champion of women’s rights, in my eyes. I couldn’t believe it was happening. It was surreal.”
Halper’s reporting revealed that Reade told her brother and a friend about the assault when it happened.
Soave also reported that Reade filed a report at the time, but has no idea what became of the complaint.
When Christine Blasey Ford stepped forward with her false allegations that Brett Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her at a party when both were in high school during the early 1980s, Biden could not wait to declare how in these types of situations he “believed all women.”
“For a woman to come forward in the glaring lights of focus, nationally, you’ve got to start off with the presumption that at least the essence of what she’s talking about is real,” Biden said at the time.
If Biden and the rest of the Democrat Party actually consider “believe all the women” a real principle, then this spells the end of the Biden campaign.
Unlike Blasey Ford’s false allegations, there are actual corroborating witnesses to back up Reade’s accusations against Biden.
Eventually the coronavirus epidemic will pass and America will come out on the other side of this emergency.
Once that happens, Reade’s credible allegations against Biden will dominate the national conversation.
