Joe Biden’s Afghanistan debacle continues to fly off the rails.
But no one was prepared for the latest jaw-dropping fiasco.
And then Joe Biden said four words to Americans in Afghanistan that was the bad news they feared.
White House press secretary Jen Psaki reacted angrily to a question from Fox News about the administration stranding Americans behind Taliban checkpoints in Afghanistan.
Psaki claimed there were no Americans “stranded” in Afghanistan and to suggest so was irresponsible.
Less than 24 hours later, the Biden administration proved Psaki was lying.
NBC’s Richard Engel reported that the U.S. embassy issued an alert to Americans in Afghanistan that “they’re on their own.”
Engel also reported the embassy retracted the alert half an hour later, but the damage was done.
“US embassy issues last alert for US citizens to leave afghanistan or they’re on their own, then recalls it 30 mins later,” Engel posted on social media.
Americans expect their government to move heaven and earth to save the lives of citizens trapped in a warzone fearing for their lives.
But Democrats emerged from a briefing with Joe Biden’s national security deputies and glumly admitted the administration could strand thousands of Americans in Afghanistan by sticking to Joe Biden’s August 31 withdrawal deadline.
Partisan warriors like California Congressman Adam Schiff criticized Joe Biden for not being able to meet his evacuation goal by the deadline.
“I think it’s possible, but I think it’s very unlikely. Given the number of Americans who still need to be evacuated, the number of SIVs, the number of others who are members of the Afghan press, civil society leaders, women leaders. It’s hard for me to imagine all of that can be accomplished between now and the end of the month,” Schiff told reporters.
Former Army Ranger and current Democrat Congressman for Colorado Jason Crow also blasted the administration for setting itself up for failure in terms of saving American lives.
“That is not achievable between now and Aug. 31. That deadline has to be extended to get the job done,” Crow stated. “There shouldn’t be a date on the calendar that dictates when the mission ends. The mission should end when our people are out.”
“Time is running out and bureaucracy is no excuse for lives lost. That’s why extending the withdrawal deadline past August 31st is essential to ensure the safety of American citizens and all our Afghan allies who spent years helping our troops,” New Hampshire Senator Jeanne Shaheen added.
The administration concealed the true number of Americans stranded in Afghanistan.
Biden and his allies don’t want the public to know just how far short they will be in removing all Americans from harm’s way.
The Daily Caller reported that in one day, the administration evacuated 350 Americans while there were 8,000 remaining in the country.
“Roughly 3,800 Americans have been evacuated from Afghanistan since July 29, with an estimated 8,000 remaining in the country, an official with direct knowledge of the situation told the Daily Caller on Tuesday. The official told the Caller that it seems ‘doubtful we are going to bring in 8,000 more Americans’ between now and the Aug. 31 deadline,” The Daily Caller reported.
At that pace, the administration will desert over 5,000 Americans behind enemy lines as potential Taliban hostages.
And many Americans cannot understand how that is possible.
