Joe Biden actually went there.
Biden intruded politics on Super Bowl Sunday.
Joe Biden wrecked the Super Bowl with one insane decision.
Starting with the Bush administration the president sat for an interview with an anchor from the network broadcasting the Big Game.
The Super Bowl is always the most-watched telecast of the year and this interview — which aired throughout the pregame show — allowed the president to reach tens of millions of Americans.
But this year Fox is televising the game and Joe Biden refused to grant an interview to one of Fox News Channel’s anchors.
CNN’s Oliver Darcy reported:
It looks like President Joe Biden might snub Fox News in a big way.
That’s at least how the network sees it. A source at Fox News told me Thursday evening that the right-wing channel has not heard back on whether Biden will grant it the traditional pre-Super Bowl interview, and that at this point the outlet is proceeding as if it is not going to take place.
“We don’t have a formal no, but we are operating like it’s not happening,” the source explained to me.
When Donald Trump would refuse interviews with liberal networks like CNN or NBC, activists in the press would claim Trump was one step away from turning America into 1930s Nazi Germany.
Biden campaigned on the pledge of uniting the country, but turning down Fox News for a Super Bowl interview because the network provided critical coverage of Biden’s failures and scandals flew in the face of that promise.
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre tried to claim the White House agreed to an interview with Fox Soul — the network’s streaming platform targeting black Americans — with former actress Vivica A. Fox and Fox Sports host Mike Hill.
“The President was looking forward to an interview with Fox Soul to discuss the Super Bowl, the State of the Union, and critical issues impacting the everyday lives of Black Americans,” Jean-Pierre posted on social media. “We’ve been informed that Fox Corp has asked for the interview to be cancelled.”
But Fox drew a line in the sand and said Biden needed to sit for an interview with the network’s news anchors instead of a softball session with general interest hosts and canceled the Fox Soul interview.
“The Biden team has been has always clear that reaching diverse audiences in innovative ways is a cornerstone of the President’s media strategy,” a White House official told Mediaite. “They had locked an interview with Mike Hill and Vivica Fox to air on Fox Soul Sunday. This interview could have been shared across Fox platforms, but Fox Corp canceled.”
But unbelievably Fox caved to Biden and let the interview on Fox Soul go forward without having Biden answer questions from a real journalist.
“After the White House reached out to FOX Soul Thursday evening, there was some initial confusion. FOX Soul looks forward to interviewing the President for Super Bowl Sunday,” Fox announced.
