Kamala Harris found herself in the middle of another public embarrassment.
This time it wasn’t her fault.
And Kamala Harris got called the one name that crossed a major line.
When Joe Biden took office Democrats began referring to the “Biden-Harris” administration.
That struck many as odd as the vice president is never given co-top billing with the president.
This dynamic rose to the forefront again when First Lady Jill Biden introduced Harris at a White House ceremony honoring Black History Month.
“As many of you know, our vice president’s historic path to the White House began before she could even walk,” Biden began.
“She is a partner to Joe, especially on issues like voting rights, and is proud to be the first but not the last,” the first lady added.
But the next line was when the event took an odd turn as Jill Biden referred to Kamala Harris as “the president.”
“Ladies and gentlemen, the president…” Biden began before quickly stopping herself.
“I just said that to make you laugh,” Biden played the moment for laughs and acted like she called Kamala Harris the president on purpose.
When Kamala Harris delivered her remarks, Harris did her best to gloss over the gaffe.
“Thank you, Dr. Biden,” Harris began even though Jill Biden is not a medical doctor.
Harris then made sure she said who is the president and who is the vice president stating everyone was gathered “with our incredible President Joe Biden” and her husband the “second gentleman” of the United States.
If this was the first time a Biden referred to Kamala Harris as “the president” it would have been no big deal.
But on multiple occasions Joe Biden’s called Kamala Harris “the president” and each time it raises questions about if they have a secret agreement that Joe Biden will only serve one term.
And given that Joe Biden will be 82 years old in 2024 and multiple polls show the American people do not believe Joe Biden is mentally fit to serve as president, the repeated references to Harris as president look like Freudian slips.
Instead, it looks like an agreed upon plan of succession for Joe Biden to step aside in 2024 and let Kamala Harris attempt to take over and run for president.
Polls show Joe Biden is at record-low levels of job approval.
And Donald Trump looks ready to announce he is running for president in 2024.
Given that the economy is a mess, crime is out of control, and the world is on fire, Joe Biden does not enter the next campaign as a strong candidate.
Democrats may be preparing behind the scenes for an eventual transition from Joe Biden to Kamala Harris.
That could explain the constant references to “President Harris.”
