Kamala Harris is plotting her political future as Democrats expect her to takeover for Joe Biden – maybe as soon as 2024.
But those plans were just thrown a major curveball.
Kamala Harris got some bad news that gives every Democrat major second thoughts.
The Trafalgar Group was one of the few polling firms that got the 2016 election right.
In 2020 Trafalgar correctly predicted a close race when the rest of the pollsters called for a Joe Biden landslide.
Now Trafalgar Group took stock of Americans’ perceptions of Kamala Harris’ ability to step in and serve as president.
The results represented a flashing red light for Democrats.
Trafalgar’s poll found 64 percent of likely 2022 midterm election voters – including 43 percent of Democrats – believe Harris is not ready to be president.
Breitbart reports:
The poll, conducted July 12 and 13, included surveying 1,000 likely voters in the 2022 midterm election. It revealed 63.6 percent of Americans don’t think Harris is ready for the top job and 43 percent of Democrats agree…
…31.6 percent of American voters are somewhat confident or very confident Kamala Harris is ready to be President, based on her performance as Vice President.
88.4 percent of Republican voters are not very confident or not confident at all Kamala Harris is ready to be President, based on her performance as Vice President.
These poll results come on the heels of several political stumbles by Harris.
Ever since Joe Biden named Kamala Harris as his administration’s border czar in March, the number of illegal aliens pouring into the country increased every month capped by a jaw-dropping 188,000 illegal border crossings in June, a 20-yearrecord.
Harris tried to quiet these criticisms with trips to Guatemala and El Paso, Texas, but Harris managed to botch those pieces of political stagecraft with bizarre comments and Harris refusing to actually visit the border.
POLITICO also published a devastating exposé of how Harris’ staffers feel beaten down as part of a toxic work environment in the vice president’s office.
Some Democrats now question if Harris should receive a free shot at the 2024 or 2028 Democrat nomination.
These poll numbers and Harris’ bumbling in office are leading many Democrats to reconsider Harris’ inept 2020 presidential campaign as more indicative of her political talents – or lack thereof – as opposed to a fluke.
But it may be difficult to shove Harris aside.
Democrats are committed to identity politics and replacing the first black female presidential nominee may not be politically palatable in today’s Democrat Party.
Donald Trump may make that choice for Democrats.
Trump’s pollster John McLaughlin produced a survey showing Trump leading Harris 49 to 45 in a hypothetical head-to-head match-up.
Democrats fear a Trump White House restoration above all else so if Trump runs in 2024 and polling data shows him likely to defeat Harris, Democrats could force a clearly declining Joe Biden to run for a second term.
