Democrats are going to terrible lengths to keep the truth about the border from getting out.
They don’t want voters to know how massive the immigration crisis has become.
Kamala Harris had a jaw-dropping response when confronted with the border crisis.
Since President Joe Biden took office in January 2021 the number of illegal immigrants apprehended by Border Patrol have doubled.
During the first ten months of this fiscal year, which starts in October, agents have encountered 1.9 million migrants at the southern border.
In July alone agents apprehended 199,976 migrants. In June 207,933 entered the country.
Yet Vice President Kamala Harris claimed that the U.S.-Mexico border is “secure.”
On Sunday during a “Meet the Press” interview with NBC News host Chuck Todd, Harris said that the “border is secure” and tried to pin the blame on President Donald Trump’s administration for creating a “broken immigration system.”
“There is no question that we have to do what the president and I asked Congress to do. The first request we made: pass a bill to create a pathway to citizenship. The border is secure, but we also have a broken immigration system and particular[ly] over the last four years before we came in and it needs to be fixed.”
Creating a pathway to citizenship would incentivize illegal immigration making the border crisis even worse and Democrats don’t appear to care.
Yet instead of dealing with the valid concerns of the problems that a pathway to citizenship would create, the vice president claimed that the only reason there wasn’t a plan yet was because lawmakers are “playing politics.”
“We don’t have that in place because people are playing politics in a state like this [Texas] and in Congress. And by the way, you want to talk about bipartisanship on an issue that at one time was a bipartisan issue,” she said. “Both in terms of Republican senators and even presidents.”
Harris stated that a pathway to citizenship, “fixing a broken immigration system” and addressing the root causes that cause illegal immigration were the ways to fix the problem.
“There are solutions, and sadly this has become such a partisan issue, instead of something where we work on it together, agreeing that what we’re doing is not working as a nation. It’s not working,” she concluded.
The one solution that Harris, who was appointed by Biden to handle the crisis at the southern border over a year ago, isn’t willing to consider is actually guarding the southern border and stopping economic migrants from illegally entering America.
The Biden Administration has proposed giving $4 billion in taxpayer dollars to El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras in order to address the “root causes” of illegal immigration.
